“2026 is not the year to be sober” is something I keep seeing in comment sections everywhere and honestly? Yeah, dude. This decade has been absolutely insane; that if I time travelled, I’m sure no matter what, no one would believe me if I talked about it. Things have changed so much since COVID and I think this album tackles that idea perfectly.

This is how the world ends, man. At least we get a gorgeous alt-rock soundtrack to blast in the face of our doom.

I think my favourite motif in The Hobbit is how much Bilbo misses being at home when he is stressed or upset: “He wished again and again for his nice bright Hobbit hole. Not for the last time.”
