Last of my holiday gift knitting is DONE and blocking! (Fingerless mitts knit in the round are pretty quick to whip up when you are stumped on a gift for someone.)

My current spirit animal.
Bound off and blocked! - I had forgotten how quickly crocheting could go—and how forgiving. After realizing I needed to start the hanging straps in the last round, I zippy-quick undid my stitches and redid the round. Easy peasy.
Set down my knitting needles and picked up a crochet hook this week (I learned how to crochet from my grandmother as a kid before learning how to knit). - An idea for a hat. Stay tuned.
I had an idea to use up leftover yarn from a 7-mini-skein kit (that was for a cowl) . . . Seed Stitch Mitts!
Rainbow knitting feels like self-care this week. 🌈🩷

The New York City yarn crawl weekend was this past weekend (Sept. 26-28), and I snagged a kit of 7 mini skeins from Yarn Over New York at Knitty City . . . and cast-on asap for a bright rainbow-ish palate cleanser of a cowl.
The rhythmic and relaxing linen stitch
Yarn chicken + nature (the High Line).

Today’s moments of joy in a dumpster fire world.
Meanwhile on the knitting front . . .
My rainbow cowl is growing (pattern is the Traveler Cowl). - Also, happy women’s history month!

Happy Economic Blackout Friday! - New cast-on after winding this rainbow-licious yarn last night.
Today’s guest speaker at the monthly Big Apple Knitter’s Guild meeting was inspirational and enthusiastic teacher/designer Willie Smith of WillieNillieKnits! - Usually we meet in person, but he is based out of Michigan, so a video meeting made it happen. - I plugged along on my knit-in-the-round scarf while watching—must admit the “knit for 25 inches” section I am in feels like an endless horizon. 😆
