my kaufmo headcanons (ep 9 spoilers!)
likely an office worker/minimum wage phone jockey who likes to draw on his free time.
casual weed smoker, wouldn't mind quitting for someone he liked.
entered sometime after Ribbit, who helped him adjust like she later did for Jax.
tells purposefully bad jokes, knowing full well they fall flat for a laugh.
quotes early Simpson's a lot. likes to draw homer on things as a joke.
initially hates his clown body, but grows to love it when Ribbit says it's cute.
head spins rapidly (like The Exorcist) when he holds his breath
demisexual and perhaps genderfluid/leaning transfem, opened up about it to Ribbit, who made him feel seen.
genuinely enjoyed Jax's friendship while it lasted.
likely crushed hard on Ribbit, loving her smile, the sound of her laugh, etc. maybe felt a bit heartbroken/left behind when she and Jax grew closer, but ultimately wanted his friends to be happy and tried to set aside his feelings. (abandonment issues?)
very slow on the uptake when the rift between Ribbit and Jax began to form, with Jax using Kaufmo as a means to distance himself from Ribbit (teaming up with him during adventures, etc). later felt extremely stupid and used.
felt immense grief and guilt after Ribbit's abstraction. blamed himself for not being there enough for her, felt he could have tried harder when she was pulling away, felt he never should have knocked on her door when she and Jax were in there that night.
was approached by Jax, who tried to get him to promise to never mention Ribbit's name like he did with Ragatha, which he refused. put it together that Jax was the one to push Ribbit into isolating herself, leading to him hating Jax. worsened by Jax's treatment of him and the others.
visited Ribbit's door often with his and her mugs.
tried his best to cope by being friendly with gangle, drawing with her when he felt up to it.
his jokes became increasingly worrying, leaning on suicidal-ideation.
started seeing the exit door after growing further away from everyone, wanting nothing more than to leave. he likely felt he had nothing left to stay for since Ribbit was gone.
after Kaufmo abstracted, him and Ribbit found each other in the cellar and stayed close.
