this movie was sooo immersing!!! the whole timing of the events was also really good, it kept the pace dynamic. i found the deaths pretty frenetic too, and that gave the movie a whole experience. now about the political side of it, the conversation of the two female characters was quite rich and impressive to me, the fact the human female wasnt so far apart from the reality of the robot got me thinking about lots of things, because its actually true. ultimately, the only reason the treatment given to these sexual robots is allowed is: patriarchy turns this view on women accepted, the norm. and when the access to an actual woman is denied, the view turns to what contemporary technology allows people to do, which ultimately causes the birth of these robots. there is nothing new in this, its just 21st century sexual inequality and the effects of gender and the exploitation of womens body now mirrored on another body, a fake one. this keeps the system alive and gives a guarantee that things wont be questioned or wont go down, even when women personally dont say yes to things anymore; its like doing things to women who still dont get the chance to say no when the others already can say yes, but now to a made up project, built within the idea of femininity and womens roles that keep ideas like woman is when pink alive - and that makes sense, because defining women as pink is defying no material reality and the oppression that comes with it. the fact the male robot seemed to suffer less in that position and his existence being more neutral socially than the main characters was what the movie needed to say on the topic in a short way, imo. And i love it!!! also, #in need of a pocket knife.

so, what a movie. personally as a latina im really not into action movies, especially american ones and thats for political reasons. i believe powerful americans (politicians supported by people with money) are used to have this behavior - around the whole world - of "lets go save that country/continent with our troops" which, esp in south america, gave us a hell of a bad time already with dictatorship feed by these mindset & keeps us always under the usa boots. you dont accept our commands? we ban you from pretty much any worldwide relationship, be it economic or whatever, and we fight you and disturb the environment deeply since chaos makes room for control. and movies like this usually paint this figure as "we are just doing our job, we are just protecting our country", feeding this belief while serving as propaganda, so no thanks. BUT!!!! i was quite surprised because the other side, the reality of mexicans, is briefly painted here. i just wished there were more: who are these people? why do they live like this and do it that way? what is the role the usa plays in this game? but i think you can only go so far right. also, i think it matters profoundly to feminists to discuss topics like this because every issue that affects a community is a feminist issue. women are the front of the oppressed, and if we dont think police brutality, racism, usa imperialism, etc are all a feminist issue, if we dont keep pushing the idea that women are at the forefront of this and women, as those who take care traditionally of every community, are the main one carrying the weight of it, the feminist fight will be in vain.

the movie kinda got its 10s portraying how the female lead felt in that environment which wasnt and never is gonna be hers. shes the alien there, she will never get why shes being asked to do that, she will always feel shes got to accept everything to prove she can do it, she will be left out of the jokes, she will be a burden to those who were supposed to teach and help her, she will be nothing but useful for the men in charge. thats their place, not hers, and shes gotta fight having that in mind. at some points the camera play made it felt unbearable to breath, it felt like it would be better to just let her go out of her own job, you could sense the atmosphere and it was not welcoming to her in any way
