hi, this post is talking primarily about Tumblr! as a longtime DP fan it used to be fairly easy to find Danny Phantom content on Tumblr, but for the past 2 years or so it's become virtually impossible.
first I blocked DC X DP. several other tag variations of the crossover kept popping up. I'd go to the Danny Phantom Tumblr tag and everything would be a wall of "Hidden Content" or untagged crossover content and just. stopped being able to find DP content even though the DP fandom has always been active for a small fandom. I was left relying on my mutuals for content, which completely obscured any new fandom members or people beyond my circle.
finally I just started blocking anyone I saw that posted DC X DP indiscriminately which as a fandom member really hurt me to do because I would like to have a sense of community with people who like Danny Phantom, but it became clear to me that DC X DP was its own entity I wanted nothing to do with, and I was sick of being unable to curate my own dash. after blocking almost 100 people I still see DC X DP posts.
So while I would love to use a filtering system that takes care of the issue, I have tried! I really don't want to blame people for this as it's a community issue that is somewhat getting slightly better, but it's still disheartening especially with others acting like it's my fault for complaining about not being able to have our own space in our own fandom. Really all DP and DC fans want is for crossovers to be kept out of the main tags on Tumblr, use literally any other tag than #Danny Phantom and you are golden and I am kissing you on the mouth. peace and love on planet Tumblr
