You know that old saying? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Here's the thing. I appreciate most of the upscaling; the hair, the clothing, even smoothing of some rough edges on features. Fingers and toes are also great.

The eyes. The lifeless eyes, though. The way Qir lost the eyelash feathering and now has this apathetic stare, are what I'm most disappointed in. I actually really liked the original iris for the viera; it saturated the hue of your choosing well, the catchlight was expressive and the natural limbal ring was blended nicely.

Seeing more neck seams, more porous/pocking textures on faces. Let's not even get started on the lifeless eyes. Lots of lip shape alterations, too.

I was also hoping miqo'te males would get their facial markings more cleaned up and crisped. But they're still pretty rough overall.

I do feel like viera got downgraded in some ways, mainly in and around the eyes. But the overall youthfulness of their features feels dulled to me. Like the buns lost some sleep over this.

So, with my tenuous "return" to XIV this month (and hopefully for more to come), I wanted to try starting a bit fresher overall.
