My dreeeeeeam call out occurred, so I’m posting this to remind myself that calling out of work is never worth worrying about.

“Thank you for calling xxxx how may I help you?”

“Oh hey Zach it’s Laura from xxx(within the hotel)”

“Oh heyyyy Laura what’s goin on?”

“I’m not feeling good and won’t be able to make it into work today, but I’m not sure who my manager is...”

“Oh no problem, it’s X and R, I’ll let them know for you.”

“Thanks Zach have a good day.”

“no problem Laura hope you feel better soon!”

The perks of being friends with the overnight front desk manager…. He leaves an hour or two after I get in for the morning. Last week we had a long talk about how when he was in the fifth grade he ended up on a privately chartered bus full of Miss America contestants (I was obviously like well that must have been the best day of your life!!) and then he told me there was a photo and I mentioned that if he happened to stumble across it, I’d love to see. Less than a minute later he brings his phone to show me. The year was like 2005 so you do the mental calculations on the imagery…

Best (and only good) part of waking up to throw up is knowing that as soon as I get my bearings that I’m calling the front desk at my work and letting them know I won’t be there!! Loves. Now I’m absolutely awake and will be trying to recover with rolaids and water (wish I had ginger ale) and maybe I’ll put on a movie. The backrooms perhaps. Once the grocery store is open I’m retrieving ginger ale, sparkling waters, SpongeBob shaped mac n cheese and wylers Italian ices.
