this whole episode was an atom bomb in the face so for this one, for now, i'll just ramble on about my favourite scene by far which is, OF COURSE-

this one🥲 oh my heart. my dearest loustat.

first of all - this just shows once again, as we all know by now, what unbelievably talented, absolute powerhouses jacob and sam are each on their own but even more together. the chemistry? UNMATCHED.

so i might be overanalyzing it all like i always do but it hurt so much more when i focused on where louis catches lestat as he doubles over - he immediately, visibly realizes that something's wrong when lestat starts to hyperventilate/choke and is immediately there to catch him and hold him up.

he's literally bracing an arm and his hand across his stomach/chest. which is one of the main core points where a panic attack acts up. he is holding his core while lestat breaks down. he's not just hearing but also physically feeling lestat wheezing/choking/gagging and drowning in his panic.

and the syncing heartbeats thing with them? he's probably feeling his own heart hammer away in response to lestat's racing one. and lestat immediately leaning into the touch, head on his chest, probably listening to louis' heartbeat too. the kisses on his head, louis burying his face in lestat's neck just as he did during the s2 reunion, LESTAT BEING HELD AFTER LITERALLY COLLAPSING😭

also a side note but i, personally, have rarely seen a panic attack portrayed so viscerally, so realistically & well, so "not pretty".

i desperately need about a million loustat hurt/comfort fics after this - any other pairing is on thin ice right now

THE ARGUMENTTT THE WHOLE ARGUMENT it was so fucking funny the way lestat got riled up more and more-

SCREAMINGGG THE WAY LESTAT SOUNDS READY TO CRY AND LOUIS IS JUST LOVING IT ALL

petty husbands arguing as foreplay and their lawyers having to endure it all

i was glad that louis took the ticket though XD i had a second flash of fear that he ws gonna refuse that too ngl

sooo then

the "why do i have to feel" scene and the second loustat moment YEEEEEES like i''ve seen some people calling it cringe and i just- huh? idec that was so achingly romantic, the way lestat flew up to louis, sang right into his face and then dropped his copy of the book, mind you his own annotated one so louis can see exactly how much it hurt him, into his lap before leaving? SCREAMING i had to pause and walk a lap around the living room for a moment fr - plus i really love the song anyway omg

the danlou service! like yesss everyone's getting fed

adding onto that with the meet up after the concert but i did dislike daniel here a bit because what do you mean louis is blantly telling you how mad he is about the book and how much it hurt lestat and you're starting with your own sob story uhmmm

but other than that more screaming because THE DEVILS MINION MOMENT OH MY GOD?????!!!!! "i feel him" WHAAAAT

i swear i have been going nuts iver this scene all week if we don't get armand in ep 3 i will be rioting

i mean the whole everyone disappearing bit was INSANE already but the way louis immediately knew, daniel asking if that happened to him and lestat, louis denying it and then the "oh"? OH?! OHHHHH

that tiny oh said SO MUCH MORE than the whole sentence before that god

had to watch the whole argument with louis again cause GOD our helen of troy looks so FINEEEEE

i lovedddd louis just being what he was this episode, being petty, loving it all, being bitchy like KINGGG be who you are and go kill bruce yessss

THE AUVERGNE FLASHBACKS OH LES-

the wolfkiller bits were too short yeah i agree on that but what we got was so nuanced and detailed i watched it all so many times now to catch everything

i really liked seeing the years basically pass at the dinner table? i don't know i feel like i'm alone with this but i found it really fascinating to watch everything change and shift around the table

(not to mention that the other actors are beyond amazing! yet i still let out the most embarrassing noise when sam was finally sitting at the table oop)

humanstat my babe❤️‍🩹 the way he was the quietest in that fuckass hollering family god

and when he returned so gravely injured, the whole scene with gabriella agh i felt SICK-

just as i felt sick at their other scenes, especially the one where he was trying to tell her that they have to stop and the other where they waited on the balcony for prey and she nicked his throat to drink from him oh-

the way lestat got so mad when he was playing the piano there and gabriella mentioned claudia and louis? oh lesdaughter moments you will always haunt us

also ghost claudia my love please come haunt everyone's asses here thank you

quick side note i LOVE la fontaine de sang so much i've been listening to it on loop

another side note on the more funnier bits i adore the band argument so much

PLEASEEEE THEY HAD HER STRESSED TO THE MAX STANDING THERE TITS OUT AND EVERYTHING i loved all the micro reactions on mother's face omg, the disgust, the annoyance, the "i want to dissociate right noe", the I LIVED 54,554 DAYS BEFORE I MET LOUIS DE POINTE DU LAC - so demure so mindful so very not over it

sooo i hope we get loustat scenes where louis really talks everything through with lestat, hopefully manages to show him how hurtful the dynamic with his maman is and maybe pretty please also let him beat someone up yes

and praying for armand devil's minion armand armand maybe the lesmand bits too devil's minion? praying

and finally as the most important not i am TERRIFIED of episode three but also i am vibrating with excitement cause MORE NICKISTAT AGH AND ALSO MORE OF THIS BEAUTY MY POOR HEART-

look and outfit so divine i can't even peek at these shots without sounding like a feral squirrel
