In the early stages of development(this whole thing was originally a Pokemon fic, God I'm so glad I changed that) Skitty and I weren't sure who should be on Delta's crew! So we were like 'PIRATE TROPES GO BRRRR' and Tsunami was our 'badass lady pirate' trope.

Gender neutral butterguy here is a b'zir who lives in a library :3 their full name is Lepidopteran Skidd, but most people call them Lee. If you're one of the people closer to them you might call them Flop instead, and since for most of their story they spend time with their childhood friend, that's probably how you'll know them too :P

Skitty here had a part in creating this lad too!!! I <3 Flop omg. They love to read and they live in the library so they know a teeny amount of basically everything. Also a bit of a tryhard, Flop doesn't like giving up(they have a bit of a failing/perfectionism problem). Their biggest hobbies are sewing and knitting, book care(particularly book binding) and plant identification!! They also know a lot about butterflies, it'd be an honest shame if they didn't lol.

Now you might ask me, 'So what's the difference between Flop and Cloud? So they're different species, but they're both booky nerds' and to that I say CONFIDENCE

OK MR. STRAIGHT-TO-THE-POINT. OK I WILL TELL THEM ABOUT THE ANIMA (I'm actually super happy you asked skdjskdnskdnskdjs)

The Anima are three powerful magical objects, created by the god Covan! Their name comes from the common term for magical energy, the anima. Anima, or magic, is emitted by incorporal spirits sort of 'personifying' forces of nature. There is a spirit of the sun, the moon, spirits of stars, spirits of wind and seas, etc. etc..

Depending on the time period this energy is harnessed in different ways, but after the Gold, Bronze, and Silver Anima were created they were the only way to use magic with rare exceptions.

The individuals currently in possession of each Anima are Beta, of Tempi City, Gamma, of the Wild Jungle Tribe, and Delta, of the Silvern Sea.

The Gold Anima harnesses spirits of the sky specifically, such as the sun, wind, clouds, rain, basically most of the ones weather related or in the sky. The user of the Gold Anima can control the temperature and weather! Beta has no idea the Gold Anima can do this, he just likes it because it's a fist- sized chunk of solid gold.

The Bronze Anima harnesses the energy of 'nature' spirits, spirits of plants and such. The way multiple spirits of one kind works is slightly complicated, ask me later. Gamma is the cheiftess of the tribe and uses the Anima's power to help the tribe.

The Silver Anima harnesses aquatic or naval-related spirits, like the spirits of stars and seas/lakes/rivers. Delta stole the Anima(he's basically a pirate), discovered its powers shortly afterwards, and uses it to propel his ship, The Unsinkable Sam.

In my process of creating an original concept for a webcomic, I've come up with a LOT of world- building, and I've decided to share some here along with doodles of characters, concepts, and places!! Please ask me anything about it!

To start us off, this world is called Dolsym! It's inhabited by a menagerie of mainly mythological creatures, including some classics and some I've made up myself! The human equivalents in Dolsym are the feym, furry mammalian bipedals with horns and hooves, and b'zir, feathered and scaled lizard-like bipedal with wings and talons.

These two aren't specific characters of mine, I just drew them as a generic example. Here's a couple ocs as examples of both species!
