If anybody were to play cry of fear and THEN pyro it would be super evident just how inspired the entire game was. A lot of the scenes there I could explicitly recall from cof just in different chronological order. Same goes for the objectives and maps and weapons. But while not every good game needs crazy traumatic lore to be considered good, I think the plot could use some more depth to become more intriguing than it already is.. In short: guy is pyromaniac, guy loses family and becomes sad, guy burns building. For a shallow person like me tho, connecting the dots after reaching the ending and reading the chars' wikis was pretty fun, plus it was only about 4 decently challenging hours of gameplay🥹

Moreover, the graphics and VA were SO SO GOOD--AND THE SOUNDTRACK IS EVEN BETTER. Only thing I didn't like was the monsters, since they all were pretty easy to predict, not to mention their lack appearances. I do wish the game would get more props especially as it's so well made (even w/o a whole team) and DOES have some major improvements in comparison, but as sb who just really wanted any sort of continuation to cof I think pyro was a hella good "alternate" storyline. $5 well spent ( ´ ∀ `)ノ～ ♡
