AoM Challenge w/ @kevinfeldown Song: “Stay Cool” by Simon D Solo piece of my cacti band’s DJ, Boone. I chose this song ‘cause it’s his sort of vibe. I’m still trying to pinpoint songs that would be the style of music he contributes to the band. Oddly enough, it’s easier for me to find songs with a mix of all three members’ styles than individually.. Note: The cacti pattern in the back are the members :’D At first, I drew them as a joke, but decided to keep ‘em since Boone is the band’s glue aka making sure their sounds are harmonious~

Art of Music Challenge w/ @kevinfeldown Song: “Oasis” by Crush Decided to do a solo piece for the lead of my cacti band, Kroone. I’ve been collecting music that reflects each band member to show what kind of style they contribute to the group. This isn’t SO much about the sound, but more about physical style/vibe. My friend @dafuru brought up Crush as a joke that he was like Kroone and it has stuck ever since [they really do have a lot of style similarities], so I chose “Oasis” since it was the song that kinda started it all. The part where Zico goes all ape is also so Kroone, it kills me every time X”D

AoM Challenge w/ @kevinfeldown Song: “Goodbye” by toe Decided to revisit this bg that I abandoned long ago and oh man.. now I know why, haha. Had to add my and @chelseafergusonart‘s OCs Blade and Zeke to keep me going. I chose this song for the sound rather than the lyrics. It always makes me think about going on an adventure, which is what these boys do on a daily basis - like renting a lame double seated bike and taking it down a Hawaiian mountain bike trail.. Sorry for the quality [blurriness]. Tumblr hates me :)

Took a break from bg practice to work on something a lil’ more personal [’cause I’ve been feeling stuck lately and just need an escape] SO I revisited an old musical trio of OCs that I’ve been wanting to bring back to life. Their sound ranges from eletronic/acid jazz with hints of samba/bossa nova. House Rulez has been a big influence when I designed them so I listened to a whole lot of it while working on them now. I’m super motivated to more with them now, I’ve got a few ideas in line with some of their songs *`-*)9 but for their re-introduction I chose this song ‘cause it replayed a million times lol Say hello to Yari, Kroone & Boone [they still need a band name..]

o8. Art Music Challenge w/ @kflofosho Song: Ocean Floor Kisses by Alina Baraz & Galimatias I swear it’s the last time I’ll use one of their songs for a while. Promised I’d challenge myself by going out of my comfort zone, so I tried a background again and on top of that I chose a water scene. Yay, bioluminescence!! Just kill me now. I drew inspiration from my later piece with the jelly girl & squid guy. This is my attempt at tying the two pieces together, a sequel really. Since the song is without lyrics, I decided to to drop the two characters and illustrate it by adding a few hints of them instead.

Haven’t been in the mood to draw lately [especially with my tablet being dumb], but I forced myself out of this art block by listening to one of my fav songs. You guys might see an AB&G pattern going on ‘cause I always fall back on their songs, aha;; This one goes out to my friend @chelseafergusonart for motivating me to draw this girl again -w-;;

o6. Art of Music Challenge w/ @kflofosho Song: “Mannequin” by Primary feat. Beenzino & Suran To think this week couldn’t get any worse for me, my tablet decided to stop working. No pressure sensitivity or smooth lines for this week’s entry! :”””) I was ready to give up, but decided to give it a try and just go with it. I kinda like it.. I don’t know what is going on anymore though. Is it a girl putting on a mask? Is it a mannequin putting on a mask of a real girl? What do you see?

Last week’s Art of Music challenge w/ @kflofosho. Kept it simple this time ‘cause I’ve been sick, so I just went  with the flow rather than put too much thought into it. Inspired by Big Bang’s “Bae Bae” [don’t judge me] featuring my main bae T.O.P. What can I say.. it’s a weird song/mv but I love watching it- it’s all over the place just like me. I chose to draw inspiration from T.O.P’s scene ‘cause honestly it’s my favorite part LOL That scene is just SO beautifully done, I can draw from it forever and never do it justice TwT;; I decided to go with a cartoon-y style ‘cause there’s plenty of T.O.P art out there based on his good looks and seriousness, I wanted to bring out his mischievous/playful side instead~ This goes out to @dafuru​, who put up with me and got hooked on Big Bang for a whole week ‘cause of me HAHA! ♥

My part of an art trade with @ash-andstuff in which we gave each other oceanic creatures to draw. I ended up using both because they’re both so pretty - a larval squid & flower hat jelly *-* Also, I was inspired by Alina Baraz & Galimatias’ song “Can I”, so I ended up dedicating this as my 2nd piece for @kflofosho‘s Art of Music challenge. I love how chill and beautiful their music is so I tried to add a bit of that to the illustration.

This week’s piece for Art of Music with @kflofosho​. I’ve been hooked on Sango’s “Middle of Things, Beautiful Wife” for a couple weeks now and been wanting to do something with it, so what better time than now. I used my OC Yukio, even though it’s not his style of music, the song really resonates with him and his significant other. Also, I used a super old ref I had saved in my old hard drive that I never got to use ‘til now LOL;; I’m striving for simplicity [in my life haha] so I tried my best to do so in this piece;;

Here goes this week’s entry for​ Art of Music challenge with @kflofosho​ . [ I got really into my 2nd entry, so I’ll post that later..] I don’t have a specific song to this piece, I just listened to whole lot of 311 during/after the holidays [to stay sane], so I decided to draw a few of my fav things- my OC Kameli, Hawaii.. another background attempt [it’s a love/hate thing].

My friend @kflofosho & I made up a weekly art challenge to get our creative juices flowing again~ it’s called Art of Music! We’ll each be picking a song that we really like and drawing inspiration from it..[heh, see what I did there?]. I already missed the first deadline :”) LOL but here it is! I chose 200% by Akdong Musician Since I ran out of time, I went for a simpler approach and tried summing them up in all their cute glory. These siblings are one of my top fav. duos. I love their funny twists on love songs, which I tried capturing in a simple drawing ꈍ◡ꈍ;;;

Cleaned up my first Day of the Dead sketch. Siblings Blade & Mel
