It’s an inconvenience really, how good looking Taeyong is. So good looking in fact, that it always manages to make Doyoung lose the debate every goddamn time.Not like it matters that he loses anyway since they belong to the same team.
Mr. Lee will always think that Taeyong is the better one out of the two, hence his captain position, if Doyoung always loses to him during their practices when he knows he can do much better.
It’s all because of that face. You’d have to be a superhuman to be able to resist looking at the way Taeyong’s eyebrows scrunch up in concentration when he listens to the opposing team. That look in his eyes when he hears something he knows he has a counter to. It’s like a magnet, no, a black hole that sucks all the information from Doyoung’s mind.
So here he is, once again defeated by the ‘almighty lee taeyong’ and that fucking face that always manages to take his breath away. He watches Taeyong go, leaving him with a mumble of 'see you on thursday’ before heading out the door.
But what annoys him more is that it’s not just his face that captivates you, it’s the way he’s so passionate about everything, whether it be baking, debate, heck even caring for people. It’s his smile and utter softness, a complete contrast from Taeyong’s default straight face that always seems to intimidate new opponents.
It’s how Taeyong never fails to give Doyoung cookies or brownies or any kind of home baked goods every time they meet up for practice. Even with their constant bickering.
So he tells him as much one thursday afternoon, with words so full of emotion. Of rage, of annoyance, of love (but he doesn’t know that yet).
And Taeyong is just dumb struck and glad because “Thank god, I thought you hated me!”
“Of course I hate you!” Doyoung retorts “I hate that you make me feel all these weird emotions that I don’t understand because I always understand everythi-” he was cut off with Taeyong’s lips on his, moving against his motionless ones.
He was in shock really. Lee Taeyong was kissing him, in the hallway, outside the debate room. And he didn’t move because he’s pretty sure that these things happen in the movies doyoung doesn’t bother watching. What’s the point when there’s no educational value.
But he guesses you do learn from it because he was the stupid one in this situation. He was the one who failed to understand that he was completely and utterly in love with Taeyong. And holy shit did that feel right to say.
Taeyong pulls away, a hopeful look on his face when he asks “Well? Do you understand what those emotions are now?” A light pink dusts over Taeyong’s face and ears, his eyes unable to meet Doyoung’s when he asks the question.
He wraps a hand around Taeyong’s wrist and pulls him in closer, his head just a little bit higher up than the latter’s. He pulls him in close enough to force Taeyong’s eyes up to his say “I love you” before leaning down to capture the shorter’s lips in his once more, admittedly a little bit inexperienced.
Taeyong might be his first love. They might not even last more than a week. But with the raging fire inside of Doyoung’s chest at the moment, the future didn’t even matter.
