Book Report - Six Pixels of Separation

Everything moving forward should be mobile friendly. Whatever we create online it should be user friendly and to the point for phones and other devices.  I should assume it might take a couple more years for both the mobile manufacturers and the telecommunication carriers to really work together to make this happen.  Until then, we just have to deal with the site loading at a minimal speed and could fail to load successfully.

I'm not sure if I agree with how Wikipedia works. Does it make sense for someone else to define what my business/brand is and corrects it after its been published in the online world? Maybe Wikipedia should verify the information they post with the business/brand itself before it goes public.

The way you word your content is important.  Businesses need to be informative about information consumers may find useful instead of pitching their brand or products.  In my personal experience, I am less willing to read further if the first few words of the ad have indications of what to buy from the business. 

Try not to ignore others as you would not want to be ignored. As Mitch Joel says, be around and responsive.

I agree with the "look" is important too. This book emphasizes over and over the importance of content.  However putting effort to the design of your blog (for example) will enhace the experience of viewers to your blog.

When I finished reading this section of the chapter, I was concerned if I was "public" enough in the online world.  Although Chris Brogan's Tweet enabled him to be directed by a total stranger (despite maybe a follower on Twitter) to where he needed to go, the idea of being known/watched by others what you are doing almost every moment of your life concerns me. How visible and invisible should you be.  Later in the book, the idea of privacy needs to be re-looked at in the world of online. Obviously one could argue that Chris Brogan got what he needed when he needed from his community but does this mean he would need to share so much online as well?

From social media to unconferences, these would new methods businesses can better themselves in this world that is changing constantly. I am looking forward to upcoming ideas and methods invented from the online world.
