It's important to let them know that they're not alone and it's possible to move pass that.

I'll start.

Yes.

I would say…. Ambrosius is a vampire and one night, he chose a victim who also became a one night stand. So, he 'bit him and sucked on his blood' after that. He was surprised when, right after, he happened to see the same man again (Ballister) and he's not dead. Then he finds out the Ballister is a special kind of human who doesn't die to a vampire's venom and not only that, his blood is very addictive so Ambrosius pursues him once more. However, Ballister remembered being stood up and is kinda salty about it so he gives Ambrosius a hard time about courting him again.

Ballister heaved a sigh, staring at his hands. They were empty, and that was the point. When the Queen offered him this opportunity, he brought nothing with him, he came from nothing. He was just an orphan. Now, he was wondering once more if he could actually bring something to the Institute and start changing how the people see him or how they feel about a commoner being a knight.

The lack of support from his peers here wasn't much help either.

"Hey Bal!"

The twelve year old looked up, his mood brightening automatically despite how down he was.

"Hey Ambs!" It didn't take a lot for Ballister to brighten up after seeing the blond.

That was the effect of Ambrosius Goldenloin, the friendliest recruit to him, hence he was also Ballister's only friend.

That's why he found it odd when he would sometimes overhear how some girl trainees would comment about how they wanted to talk to Ambrosius, but didn't find him approachable cause he seemed unfriendly to them.

Of course, Ballister found out later why when Ambrosius would complain about them because of something they said against him.

Sort of alternate universe idea i guess?

One where Todd is as obnoxious as ever but in an opposite way. Like... he actually has a hero worship with Ambrosius and Ballister and keeps trying to pitch a threesome idea with them. And they're insistently rejecting the idea. At one point, Ambrosius just goes...

Ambrosius: You know we can just kill him... hide the body somewhere, we can be discreet, no one will know...

"Ugh. Fuck."

"What's wrong, Bal?" Ambrosius asked, looking up from his book.

Nimona followed up, in between chewing Nachos. With no olives. She's not allergic, Ambrosius is, but she's not taking any chances. "Yeah, that was a solid fuck right there."

"Stop eating those nachos, lunch will be ready soon. Literally the lunch you prepared." Ambrosius interjected, narrowing his eyes. "You'll spoil your own meal, Whirlwind."

Ambrosius groaned, glaring at Nimona and pointing a finger towards her. "I said not to call me that."

"Pfft, cut your hair then."

"I told you I'm trying something new, so no."

"Heh, maybe that contribute to why you felt it was too hot, Angel."

"Don't you start, Bal."

"Well, if you're keeping it like that for a while then you're definitely Goldilocks."

"Who is that even...?"

"Eh, not sure. Think it was a popular story a couple centuries ago or so," Nimona shrugged, "Anyway, out with it. Did you eat something again or get anywhere near flowers?"

Thinking about how they "knew"

Maybe Ballister always thought he was beautiful, like... in a generic, public "oh it's Gloreth's descendent" kind of way. But the moment he knew he liked Ambrosius was when the guy was listing the many inconsquential things he loved about, say, ice cream and one of them is how he wasn't allergic to them. Ballister's been watching his dorky mannerisms for about an hour, and after a light fist bump to the shoulder before saying good bye, Ambrosius left and Ballister walked back to his own dorm room dreamily thinking about his smile.

Then, just as he opened the door, he realized he's been thinking about the smile and went "oh shit. I'm gay" awakening moment.

I saw this video snippet from a compilation "When fans go overboard" and a fan legit took a sweatband from a professional basketball player as souveneir and then the rest of the fans with them on that bench started fighting over it while the basketball player was turning to retrieve and saw how they fought over the band and probably went "Nah, ain't dealing with these idiots." And just left the sweatband.

The fan who stole it didn't keep it in the end.

Now my point... Imagine this happened to Ambrosius, and the entitled fans took his armor's pauldrons or something. Ambrosius decided to leave it alone since he has spares at home.

But nope, Ballister ain't having it. Ambrosius is his boyfriend, and the only one who can playfully mess around with Ambrosius with his stuff is also him and went ballistic (pun intended) to get item back.

Ambrosius may or may not have been turned on.

Chapter 1: Olives

"So..."

"Yeah," Ambrosius hummed, nodding his head and looking just as nervous. "So."

At that note, they both laughed nervously which, ironically, helped lessen it. It was probably due to the fact that they find each other's laughter quite soothing. Plus, Ballister always did like it when his best friend (and hopefully future boyfriend) smiled. He pushed the door open to 'The Antlered Serpent', and gestured for Ambrosius to walk in first.

"After you."

Ambrosius smirked, "Smooth." he said, "You trying to impress me there, Bal?"

"That depends." Ballister grinned, "Are you impressed?"
