Honestly if you can keep him, I would. If they’re getting along now they’re fairly likely to continue. A little scuffling here and there isn’t usually cause for alarm. Just making sure they both have a place to feed and drink without having to cross the other is generally enough if there is some stink eye going on. That’s also not enough hens for two full size roosters, so there’d need to be more pullets added if you did keep them both.. chicken math and all that! lmao. I’ve got 2 full size roosters over a flock of only 3 bantams and 7 standards because we sadly recently lost some girls, and the poor ladies are getting shagged in to oblivion in the evenings. Personally, given the choice I’d take a cochin rooster over a leghorn rooster any day, leghorn boys have a habit of turning out to be real assholes. That said I do not know your flock or your purpose for having a rooster! EDIT: dang tbh I wrote this thinking your birds were much younger! They are nearly a year?? Sorry about that! Your cochin roo might not be a roo. Possibly a hen with a defunct ovary. This is really late for these behaviors to be starting! I’ve only had experience with roosters in the bantam variety of cochin but they showed very fast.

Thanks for the feedback! Any time I observe them, they don’t scuffle or anything. Even if one mounts hens, I haven’t noticed the other getting upset or pushing the other off (like I said, this behavior started a few months ago). The cochin doesn’t respond to the leghorn’s crowing, but crows every now and then. They even will eat next to each other and act civil. It’s very confusing! Like you said, it’s very late for the cochin to be developing these behaviors. I had thought the cochin was a really masculine hen and was waiting for high pitched crowing, but the cochin has a deeper voice than the leghorn! It’s very odd. I’m just nervous they will hurt each other or hurt the hens. We’ll see what happens. I’m not fully convinced what sex the cochin is, but as long as they don’t cause trouble it doesn’t matter to me. I’m kind of hoping the cochin is a hen and these behaviors will reduce or cease during the next molt when the hormones fluctuate. We’ll see!
