situation: you meet a cute neighbor (san)Â

You step out the doors, leaving behind a heated room that has succumbed to a power outage.Â
Down several flights of stairs, you make it to the ground floor, where a small park rounding the back invites you with its breezes.
Youâre pacing between the rows of evergreen plants with the chill air laced in your hair when suddenly, you hear footsteps.Â
Whipping around, there is a gorgeous boy with pink hair. You recognize him as one of the eight living in the flat below you.Â
And judging by the sweat rolling off the sides of his sharp face, the power outage is not doing him well either.
âI swear Iâm not following you!âÂ
You had to suppress a chuckle, so the rumor is true, he is a cutie.Â
âThatâs what stalkers say.â
âIt was really hot inside because of the power outage...â he fumbles with his words but trails off as soon as he catches your teasing smile.Â
The two of you continue to walk, but this time the boy is by your side.
Minutes later, he startles you with an awkward introduction, âIâm San, like the mountain.âÂ
Mentally, heâs facepalming himself for being so, so slick.Â
You, on the other hand, find him absolutely adorable. Now here is someone who matches your dorkiness.Â
âIâm Y/N,â you say with a grin, and San breaks into one even wider than yours.
With that, you two make conversation. Small talk, smile, small talk, smile.Â
A while longer, he brings up, âI should have taken my phone and earphones like you.âÂ
Not that heâd rather listen to music than talk to you. He just wants to share earphones with you.Â
Please get the hint. Please get the hint.Â
San is still chanting silently in his mind when you offer him one side of your earphone.
Just like that, the remainder of the walk was comfortable conversations against a lovely music background.Â
In less than an hour, you have grown quite fond of San. So, when some rooms in the apartment building light up to indicate that the outage has been fixed, you couldnât help but feel slightly disappointed.Â
The two of you bid the bright moon and blanket of stars goodbye and head back inside.Â
On the elevator, San returns one side of the earphone and shuffles nervously.Â
Floor 1. Floor 2. âDo you like going on walks?â He asks, heart racing as fast as the elevators shooting through the floors.Â
Floor 3. Floor 4. âThen letâs do this again sometime next week.âÂ
Floor 5. Floor 6. âCan I have your phone number? Iâll memorize it now!âÂ
Floor 7. Floor 8. San arrives at his floor and enters the now-lit apartment with a smile so wide even Hongjoong can see it from behind his laptop.Â
That night, San texts you like he said he would, even running it through Jongho and Grammarly twice just to make sure itâs perfect.Â
Obviously, San messes up a number, the text jumbles without him knowing, and heâs all sulky for the whole week.Â
She said, âIâll wait,â when I told her Iâd text???
When he finally âmeets you by chanceâ in the elevator, he brings it up, realizes his mistake, and re-saves your number.Â
But just in case, he asks you out in person, too.Â
