Is this supposed to be a reference to art deco of the 1930s? Speaking of the 30s is myth of the machine set in the 1930s? It's a little hard to try and pin point what period they actually live in. Because the 30s would align with the popularity of rubberhose cartoons back then.

okay well lowkey i had animal headcanons for all of them based on this post right here

so imma use this post to share my animal-habit headcanons

Bendy - Scorpion Scorpions literally dance to court their partners. I jumped for joy when i learned this. Bendy used to be able to crawl on the walls in my head. he can't do it as well now bcs hes weak but with grown-man weight. he'll also stab people with his tail like a stinger, but he has no venom. unless you include ink poisoning lol

Boris - wolf hes a lil color blind and gets zoomies but rarely he sheds a TON. he also randomly starts screaming howling just whenever he feels like it. He also does the dog thing of sniffing/sneezing to get someone's attention. He also shakes when hes wet and a water fall will pour out of his fur and onto the nearest victim.

Cuphead - Snake cuphead hisses like 😬 "ssssYIKESss!" a lot but thats just based on circumstance. Cup also used to stick his tongue out at people he didnt like when he was younger. sticks his nose in everyone's business. whether hes just very curious and investigating, or he genuinely sticks his head really close to people and whatever theyre doing . He doesnt shed his skin obvi, but he astral projects casually which is why hes not so concerned about his soul form. also that one scene where he does shed his skin in his soul form

Mugman - Hare Mugman is constantly on high alert so he has trained his hearing to be very very good. I found out about the 3-3-3 rule for hares specifically (Messages of the Machine iykyk) and i think he also follows that rule. Mugman is typically stiff and awkward around people, but gets very energetic and jumpy with people he's comfortable with (like binkies)

Shelly - Ammonite (not much is known about the behavior of ammonites but they are cephelapods so im basing these off of that) Shelly, like octopi, LOOOVES to solve puzzles. She also likes squeezing through small areas and being really active during the night. She is very curious and likes to just grab things without really asking or thinking before.
