It’s probably gonna end up on the “things I wish I hadn’t admitted” list, but I can’t take it back and it’s still, unfortuntely, true. It’s just one of those home comforts you miss on the road.

Oh, yeah. Travellin’ between different climate zones back home does it, too. Goin’ from hot to cold and back and forth again wreaks havoc on old injuries. The studio’s my sanctuary, I don’t talk about it a lot - it’s just a glorified workspace in the house for y supplies, my canvases, and me. My greatest pride in life  is knowin’ I’ve had a hand in creating and raising those girls. I gotta show you the picture of Ruby gone fuly Itchweed, you’ll fall out, it’s like lookin’ at a mini version of me. That return to actual competition is gonna be a sweet feelin’ after havin’ to be out there and not bein’ able to get involved. You’ve got a pretty good eye for booking, we should put you in charge of teams next year.

I’m about to perpetuate every southern stereotype in one sentence, but I’m missin’ sweet tea somethin’ fierce right now.

Especially when I’m wakin’ up, those are the mornings I feel like I’m ninety. That’s true, I’m always gonna be that kid flyin’ off the highest thing he can find. Because the ring is my home, it’s like bein’ in my art studio or seein’ my girls - it’s just a part of me. That’s a good way to look at it, it can be an ugly truth that comes with the business, but. certain inuries and surgeries not withstanding, you always have somewhere to come back to after that rehabbin’ is done. What would your teams look like if you were in control creatively?

Perks of the job, faking it until you make it. Between the art and the history Rome’s always been on my list, too. I’ve never been, and probably will never be, good at any sorta classic painting, but I have a deep appreciation for it. I don’t know if I’m looking forward to seein’ my family, my own house, or my own bed the most.

Mhm, at least ten years ago. I’m not as young as I was. That understandable, it’s not safe for you to be takin’ bumps when you’re still concussed. Or if your arm is still zingin’, you don’t wanna end up havin’ to have surgery. Why do I get the feelin’ you’re more upset about some - or maybe better put, one - of the faces representing your brand than about me not makin’ the cut for mine?

With a functioning addiction to caffeine, usually. No, but, it’s like you said - it’s all about the love and the passion. There’s nothin’ quite like the feeling of being in that ring and in our element. Life is too short to have a job that feels like work every day.
