I read the rich teen Kevin post and I don't want to engage with the post itself but I am so baffled I need to vent:
1. Thank you for fighting in the trenches š«”. I love that you are doing what needs to be done.
2. Do they read the books or just read a few dialog and consider it done?
3. Neil literally has the exact same response and frequently he is the most unsympathetic of the main characters and he never gets shit why Kevin gets it? I don't get it!
4. I didn't stalk the OP but a trend I've been seeing is that people who share Foxes' view on Kevin (that he is an Exy nut and nothing else) usually also claim that they like him (and from the OP's wording I assume it is the for them) and I honestly do not understand it. The Kevin in their mind is so 1 dimensional. He is not interesting: if they like his character. If they like him like a real person (weird but whatever): then he is so annoying for the sake of being annoying. Why do they like him? If not, why claim that they like him?
5. In the rare cases which they hate him but looove the other 4: that also doesn't make sense since all of their faves like Kevin. Actually like him, want to be around of him. Neil gets grumpy when Kevin doesn't include him to his watch party. Andrew willingly entertains Kevin's requests unrelated to their deal. Jean is in love with him. And Jeremy thinks he is his brilliant unparalleled friend. So do they think all these people wrong and maybe under Kevin's ?? idk siren magic or something?
/end of vent.
Honestly, perfectly put
It is so funny how Andrew, Neil and Kevin are literally giving zero fucks about Seth's death, but only Kevin gets heat for It for some reason. Like, yeah, kids who grew up around violence are dessensitized to violence. Where is the surprise here??
And It is definitely very funny how flat they make Kevin seem for no reason, even though in reality Kevin is one of the Very few Ravens to have any interest besides Exy, has fought to study history, keeps on seeing potential in players everyone would otherwise dismiss, etc.
Yes, he is deeply traumatized and has learned to "only care about Exy" as a literal means of survival. He could either compartimentalize and push everything else aside or go completely crazy inside the Nest. But the same way Andrew tries to appear as If he does not care about anything so he can survive, you can see Kevin's 'I Care about nothing but the game' mask slipping so many times. But somehow they keep on insisting on portraying him like this flat annoying character that.
I honestly cant understand
