( non-binary | they/he | tom holland ) ââ isnât that OTTO BAGMAN? yeah that is them, outside the three broomsticks! they used to be in RAVENCLAW but apparently they now work as a RADIO PERSONALITY at the WIZARDING WIRELESS NETWORK. sybill once said that they reminded her of always tinkering on muggle technology, disappearing for days at a time, reading the rules before breaking them, and throwing glitter which seems about right. anyway iâve heard theyâre still a bit CHAOTIC, EXTROVERTED and FLAKY, theyâre TWENTY FOUR now but some things never change! i wonder how being a HALFBLOOD is affecting them after hogwarts, especially now theyâre NEUTRAL? i guess only time will tellâŚ

gus was wearing a grin as he sat back on the bench, arm stretched out over the back, not a care in the world. âno, alright, so I was having lunch with the girls today, and youâre never going to believe what they told me.â
otto wasnât really paying attention to their surroundings and hadnât noticed they were anywhere near gus until the other started speaking .  honestly ,  they probably needed to stay away from him ,  but they didnât really care .  â wait what girls ?  and what kind of things did they tell you ? â  now they were curious and wanted to know what he was talking about and had heard .
âThree days? Otto thatâsâŚâ His brows furrowed and he got up from the window ledge, to get closer to his brother. âIs there anything I could do to help? I donât know. Maybe youâd sleep better if you werenât alone?â He didnât like the sound of Ottoâs plans which consisted in just letting things happen. âMaybe you could see a new one? Or I could see if thereâs a half-blood doctor who could see you? Weâll figure it out, alright?â Ludo could afford it and he would have done anything to make his brother feel better.
âYouâre fucking rude, and Iâm telling mom you said that,â he replied with a smile on his face. âDouchebag.â
âAlright you really donât need to go into details,â Ludo had to cover his eyes as he laughed. The last thing he wanted was to think of his baby brotherâs sex life. Ludo still saw him as the little kid who got into Hogwarts a decade ago and it wasnât easy for him to accept that he was an adult now. It was silly, but that most likely had to do with how little he had been seeing him while he was abroad. Ludo hadnât seen his brother a lot and every summer, he was surprised to see how much he had grown. âI really donât think I want to discuss my love life. Itâs⌠heh. Thereâs someone I like, I just need to be brave and tell her how I feel.â And thatâs all he would tell his brother.
â itâs normal when i get into my research ,  donât worry about it .  itâs happened before .  itâll happen again .  iâm not worried about it . â  really this was a normal thing for them and it was weird for them to to get actual sleep .  otto knew it was a bad thing ,  but thatâs how it was .  â well i donât always sleep alone ,  you know .  just sometimes .  besides ,  when i get into research ,  i  get into it .  itâs important you know .  my job and all that .  we canât all fly around on brooms and give motivational speeches to our friends as jobs . â  otto had always been one of those people that that went with the flow because actually making plans seemed to be a lot more trouble than just letting things happen .  otto was just that type of person who would rather not stress about things that were supposed to happen .  â but iâm fine .  i donât know what itâs a big deal .  if something was really wrong ,  iâd go to the doctor .  and itâs that weird brain thing thatâs the problem .  you know the one that makes me hyper all the time . â  it wasnât a big deal and they hated that ludo always had to make a big deal out of everything when otto was just fine .  â you donât have to worry about me .  i get sleep .  i eat .  i even exercise .  iâm doing great at work .  i have fun and spend time with the people i care about .  really ,  i have a good life .  i donât need things to change right now .  thereâs already too much change happening . â  otto didnât know if they could handle more change when everything seemed to be a struggle these days .
â oh piss off ,  ludovic .  mum canât help you now , â  they replied sticking their tongue out at their brother .  â besides ,  mumâs more likely to believe me .  iâm the baby and iâm sure she wouldnât like hearing the name you just called me .  itâs very rude . â  they shook their head ,  acting disappointed in ludo like their parents would be if they heard that language . Â
âiâm the nosy, french bastard, the fabulous one, with the auror boyfriend. you wonât forget again, I promise. iâm memorable.â he grinned, and the smile grew as otto explained the reasoning behind the rule, bringing his hands together to clap only the tips of his fingers. âfor what itâs worth, I shouldnât be trusted either, but dmitry doesnât need to know that. i blew up a brand new potions lab at beauxbatons, on accident, the very first week they let us use it. as long as we donât set anything on fire that we canât fix, he doesnât have to know what weâve been doing in there. so thereâs something you know now, something fun, or a few things, I suppose. I donât know that I know all that much more than you do, but maybe. I know we have a few things in common, but you can ask me anything, too, this will be fun.â alright, fine. maybe he had already decided heâd liked otto before heâd met them, but .. meeting them had certainly sealed it. oh, dmitry had no idea what a mistake heâd made, but jean-luc was thrilled to be making a new friend like otto. âyou know what? you are. you are delightful. and so am i.â sure, he couldâve waited to see if otto agreed with him, but jl wasnât going to take that chance. âay, pues, youâre going love the puzzle that is jean-luc claudio allaire alvarez, then, my friend, because I am the quarter veela son of a disowned political powerhouse pureblood and a half-veela supermodel, raised above a very expensive, french, muggle bookshop. ask me anything, iâve partied with warhol, I love weird.â
â as an aurorâs boyfriend and a lawyerâs significant annoyance ,  shouldnât we be each otherâs mortal enemies ? â  otto was only teasing ,  though it was curious that jean - luc and dmitry were friends knowing that information .  otto would file that information away .  â i hope your boyfriend never arrests me for anything . â  honestly ,  that was more likely than not ,  since otto was a mess and did break the law more often than not .  â you blew up a potions lab !? â  otto exclaimed louder than they meant to .  they couldnât help but laugh at that .  â i donât think iâm that bad .  most of the time .  but i donât know ,  cereal . â  there wasnât any fire involved in making cereal and otto still had no idea how that had happened .  either way ,  as long as nothing bad happened ,  otto didnât care what they did in the kitchen ,  but dmitry would never forgive them if they got hurt .  â he just really loves his kitchen . â  and it was a nice kitchen .  unlike the shitty one in ottoâs place .  â obviously we are both delightful people .  i wouldnât have it any other way .  but of course ,  you cannot take the spot of my best friend . â  but eventually ,  maybe a really good friend would be nice .  otto didnât have nearly enough of those and they seemed to be a good match in personality .  that was always important .  â you lived above a bookshop ?  wow ,  thatâs so cool .â  otto wanted to know more ,  though it was early and for some reason they couldnât think of a single thing that would make sense to ask .  â i am a strange  type of weird .  have you listened to my show ? â

âI know, I know, but thatâs my own fault for trying to surprise you with lunch. canât ask you ahead of time.â she shrugged, letting it go, because that time, it wasnât like anything had really been going on, and she knew better than to attempt to show up unnannounced anyways, though it rarely stopped her. âon the moon, no, unfortunately, but at cape kennedy, yes, actually. they launched the apollo eleven rocket at six thirtytwo in the morning, and i have never seen anything like it before or since. it was incredible. and then about ⌠oh, nearly eight thirty the next night, we watched on the television while they walked on the moon. they took a camera, there was a live feed. we could probably find it somewhere, you can see!â with her mind on space, mina was likely to get lost in her thoughts, but that didnât last long. with her nerves, though, mina appreciated the offered hand, sliding her own into it though she didnât truly need it; it was just nice sometimes, to hold hands with your friends, and she gave ottoâs a squeeze, even though they, as predicted, laughed at her. âotto thatâs mean!â she couldnât help laughing with them, but the big smiled betrayed how excited she was, even over the amusement at the way .. the bagmans always were with each other. âno, thatâs definitely not the conversation he and I had. and I wouldnât be a good weapon against you, anyways, right, so .. yeah, serious.â she had to laugh again, though, at the next offering. âno thatâs okay, I can beat him up myself if I need to. youâre not mad?âÂ
â iâd tell you the same thing i told ludo ,  but i donât care if you see me with someone i brought home . â  sometimes otto wondered if everyone thought they were incapable of living on their own .  he knew better with mina ,  but sometimes they didnât like getting checked up on .  â iâll only ditch a boy for you . â  but it wasnât as if otto did bring people home .  they were cautious about who they let into their house .  â thatâs unfortunate ,  iâm curious what itâs like .  and how they do it because it isnât like we can just ... go there .  all these books are helpful ,  but i wanna know more .  maybe i can have you come on the show and talk about it ! â  they exclaimed .  clearly this was something they were going to have to get into at some point because otto was thrilled to know sheâd seen the launch .  they didnât know who else to ask and they were curious about the whole thing .  muggles were very obsessed with space and it was fascinating .  â what do you mean iâm mean ?  he insults me all the time . â  like normal siblings teased each other ,  but mina didnât need to know that bit .  â no youâre right .  dmitry wouldâve been a better choice for that ,  but iâd probably just cry if that was the case .  and anyway thatâs a silly thought because weâre whatever . â  otto tilted their head to the side .  â of course iâm not mad mina !  can i start plannig the wedding ?  when are you becoming my sister . â
â  okay,  i  swear  this  is  not  what  this  looks  like.  â
â oh ,  really ?  because it looks like you were having fun without me and thatâs disappointing .  i thought youâd at least invite me along for fun . â
âyeah, that makes sense,â mina said, shaking her head as soft, gentle laughter escaped her; of course otto had been wrapped up in a new topic, they usually were, and since it hadnât been an important trip, mina wasnât too concerned about it. âI do know a little about space, though, if youâre interested. I mean, iâm no expert or anything, but I watched them put men on the moon, so .. I know some, I guess.â but mina knew she was getting distracted, and, though, she truly was willing to let herself be ⌠it was more important that she share her news, and she knew it. so, really, ottosâs assurance that she wasnât interrupting left her with no excuses, even if, truly, she had no plan. âitâs ⌠mmm⌠thereâre so many ways to say this, I donât evenâŚâ she had to laugh at herself, pausing and shaking her head once more. âiâm being stupid, i know i am, and youâre probably going to laugh at me, but ⌠what if .. your brother and i ⌠were a couple? would that be a problem? or is that something that we could ⌠be excited about together?â

â I can send an owl, tell you when I plan to visit, or we can just say Iâll come every Thursday morning?â Because thatâs when keepers trained alone, and that meant he had the whole morning off. âI donât want to startle you or trigger anxiety, you know?â That was the last thing he wanted, and his visits were meant to do the exact opposite of that, for the both of them. He would always have worried about Otto, even if he had been less chaotic. He worried for everyone, whether it was Mina, their parents, his teammates, Gus, or even his muggle neighbors.
â Alright, I get it,â in moments like those, he wanted to wrap his arms around his brother and take in charge that demon for a couple of days, for them to rest a little. âIf I were that demon, I would be terrified, Otto. Youâre one of the strongest willed people I know,â and he wasnât saying that to be nice. When his brother set his mind on something, there was no quitting. Ludo admired that. In a way, they both had that trait of character. Neither of them were the kind to give up. âMaybe you should talk to a muggle doctor about that, see if they have any idea what it could be,â he offered. Ludo knew it was not the safest thing to do, âI donât know if thatâs very careful though, with everything thatâs going onâŚâ The beater looked down, his gaze getting lost in the tile joints. Crossing his arms over his chest, he sighed. It was hard to keep a bright smile when everything was so dim out there.
â Wait a second,â with the other being so casual about the whole ordeal, Ludo almost could have let it slipped. âI knew it. No way you would have let just anyone in here,â his smile was back then, brighter than ever. âHeh, lifeâs short. If you like him, you should tell him,â he shrugged. Easier said than done.Â
otto  nodded  at  their  brotherâs  statement  and  the  following  question  .  â that  works  .  iâm  usually  here  . â  the  only  time  they  werenât  here  was  when  they  spent  the  night  with  someone  and  these  days  that  hadnât  been  happening  as  often  .  â youâre  not  going  to  startle  me  ,  but  like  what  if  i  had  someone  over  ? â  it  was  almost  an  absurd  since  otto  was  careful  about  who  they  gave  their  address  out  to  .  â itâd  be  really  awkward  if  i  hooked  up  with  someone  and  then  suddenly  my  brother  was  over  here  .  i  donât  think  you  need  to  know  about  everyone  i  sleep  with  . â  otto  looked  at  ludo  with  a  vaguely  innocent  look  on  their  face  .  even  though  they  knew  that  ludo  would  never  stop  worrying  about  them  ,  it  was  really  annoying  when  he  did  just  show  up  . Â
â then  maybe  you  can  get  the  demon  to  let  me  sleep  .  itâs  been  like  three  days  i  think  . â  they  were  exhausted  and  the  more  they  wanted  to  sleep  the  more  frustrating  this  got  .  honestly  they  were  about  just  about  to  take  a  potion  to  get  some  rest  but  they  never  felt  like  that  was  good  enough  rest  .  â no  ,  thatâs  not  what  i  want  to  do  .  theyâre  just  going  to  tell  me  thatâs  my  adhd  and  not  help  me  .  iâve  been  down  this  road  before  .  donât  worry  about  me  .  itâll  be  fine  .  eventually  i  crash  and  my  next  few  shows  are  planned  out  so  i  can  focus  on  myself  for  the  next  few  days  . â  they  shrugged  . Â
â well  ,  i  mean  i  do  let  you  in  here  ,  so  i  do  let  just  anyone  in  here  . â  otto  teased  with  a  grin  on  their  face  .  â he  knows  i  like  him  .  i  think  he  likes  me  ,  thatâs  why  we  kiss  and  everything  .  and  he  helps  when  things  get  overwhelming  .  and  he  brings  me  tea  .  and obviously you donât need to know this ,  but the sex is really good . â  otto  kept  the  smile  on  their  face  casual  and  didnât  blush  as  they  spoke  .  â anyways  ,  iâm  not  pushing  things  because  i  donât  want  to  make  things  weird  .  iâm  still  young  and  everything  ,  so  iâve  got  time  to  figure  out  my  love  life  .  you  on  the  other  hand  .  you  are  old  .  when  are  you  going  to  find  a  significant  other  so  youâll  bother  them  instead  of  me  ? â
âNo, that really happened. The Americans have done it a half dozen times nowâ Iâve got a couple books about the launches around here somewhere, but theyâre in Russian.â Dmitry moved the papers heâd been working on to the nightstand, figuring the chance of him getting back to them tonight was rather small. âSorry, I didnât catch it the first time.â He had, but that excuse was what made lip reading worth the effort. âLord Stairâs the one thatâs cute, look at him all curled up.â
â what ?!  multiple times ?  theyâve been to space more than once ? â  otto looked up as if they could see through the ceiling .  â i think youâve just found the next topic for my show .  iâve never thought too much about space . â  they smiled at dmitry .  â i think you ignored it on purpose ,  but more than one being in this room can be cute .  youâre cute ,  lord stairâs cute ,  iâm cute .  and you know what i think ? â  they grinned .  â that the two cute people in this room should cuddle ,  maybe i can get a kiss . â  otto really liked this man more than they cared to admit because that was scary .Â
âIf anyone were to ask me why I love you, I am certain that my answer would vary every time. I might say âthe laziness in his voice,â or maybe âthe innocence in his smile,â. I might answer âthe softness in his actions,â or possibly âthe strength in his character,â. After all, I do not have a single reason to not love you. Thereâs not a single thing about you that I have not come to love with every bit of me. And itâs okay, if you do not or will never feel the same about me. Because for me, as long as thereâs a smile on those lips every once in a while and a glint of contentment in those eyes, I will never ask for more. Even if you were to leave me at this moment, it doesnât matter, for I will continue to fall in love with you everyday.â

â Heh, I donât know. I guess I feel kinda bad for the years I didnât visit you at all,â not by choice, but living abroad meant that you couldnât just move from one country to another like that, especially in a time of war. Even sending owls was complicated, as the ministry sometimes had to make sure it was nothing dangerous. âBut I understand. Iâll try to visit less often then,â it meant more time spent on the things he put aside because he was too busy.
â You canât possibly believe that all those injuries arenât going to have long term consequences,â Ludo knew that any living body had its limits, even his own. âJust try to be careful, alright?â Otto said it them-self, he had plenty of people who cared for him, and so, they had to do their best not to hurt them, whether it be him, Mina or Dmitri.
âSpeaking of which, I ran into Dmitri the other day,â did it count as talking about Otto? It didnât, did it? âHe seems nice,â and there was something about his tone that implied a thousands of questions Ludo wanted to ask : who is he, where did you met, do you like him, does he live here, where does he work, what does he like, are you two serious? Instead he remained silent, a small, idle smile on his face. âYou two are friends?â He cleared his throat, obvious as ever, and turned to look outside the window.
to think her grin had gotten larger upon the smile she received might have seemed impossible, but grow it did; there was nothing in the world quite like an oreo toto danger trouble frankenstein beardperson greeting. ânope, definitely donât think youâre at work. you werenât the other day, either, what happened?? I met alecto though, youâre right, very nice.â and, though, she really did have pajamas for the cat, mina wasnât really interested in chasing him down just then. âiâm not interrupting anything, am I? i have something to tell you, and iâm pretty sure itâs going to be very distracting if I am interrupting. but exciting! well, hopefully. for you. itâs exciting for me.â
ottoâs mind was only half on currently ,  so it took a moment for them to realize that mina had walked in their room and they werenât just talking to no one .  â huh ?  the other day ?  i was probably doing some research .  iâm working on a new series for my show on space i guess .  so i needed to do some research âcause i know nothing about space . â  otto smiled and was glad that mina and alecto seemed to get along because it stressed them out when people they hung out around didnât get along .  â hm ?  not interrupting anything .  i can put this away for now .  whatâs going on ? â
