Tari had been a problem since the moment they'd brought her to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Her circumstances were strange, as was she: what was a baby gurlanin doing in the care of a group of Mandalorians?
She did not like to listen to what the teachers were trying to tell her. She wanted to go back -- if her clan was gone, she wanted to find a new one. She had caused more headaches than anyone thought was reasonable.
So in the end, they'd given her over to Master Lyn Vrei, hoping the twi'lek could put some sort of discipline into the obvious rebellion Tari showed. She did not do well in Vrei's care, but they had no other options.
And then -- and then Geonosis, and though Master Vrei had not been sent to the planet, she still turned up missing -- leaving the still resistant gurlanin child.
In the days after Master Vrei's disappearance, Tari seemed to shake herself off and be almost...happier. And then, she'd laid eyes on four commandos, and something had clicked.
Four Republic commandos and their gurlanin commander, deployed to dig up any information they could by whatever means they deemed necessary.
Intelligence would help to win the war, and with a downright enthusiastic gurlanin on their side, perhaps she could make some small difference -- but any information was better than none.
A Gift of Engines and Exhaust

Ignis was waiting in the shop, a large tarp covering a new item he had just purchased, with watch in hand, he waited for the two to arrive. It was his daughters birthday and he wanted to get her a big gift that she would cherish and use, and he knew just the thing.
Parja tugged at her sister’s hand, excitement bubbling over as she chattered away at her. Udesla let her, seeming unfazed by the enthusiasm.
Upon seeing the shop up ahead, Parja picked up her pace, gigging happily as she dragged her sister. “Come on, ‘des!”
Ignis walked up a few seconds after that and said. “Hey there, Tari.” As he gave a gentle smile while sitting down on the bench beside her.
Tari only hummed softly in reply, eyes slipping shut again even as her fingers moved to bury themselves into her daughter’s hair. Mumbling a hello to Ignis, she slipped back to dozing again.
Parja only giggled, settling down into her lap.
His eyes kept an eye out as well as they drove through the road in the park. He gave a smile and nudged Parja as he saw Tari sitting on a bench further inside the park, he knew it was her from this far.
Tari sat dozing in the sun, eyes shut. Had they been closer, they would have noticed the blood that was caked onto her hands and on her clothes. She very much should have cleaned up, but after several days of non-stop work at the hospital, she was a bit worn out. She’d needed sustenance, and after so long in the presence of two war deities—-not even to mention the vengeful spirit that was her twin—-she’d taken easily to gaining it from blood.
Parja perked up at seeing Tari, tugging at her father’s arm. “Come on, Daddy. Almost there!”
Ignis drove the motorcycle to a stop just a short distance away, parking it as the engine rumbled to a halt. Standing from the bike, he lifted Parja off and set her on the ground before walking towards Tari.
The moment’s Parja’s feet touched the ground she was off. Reaching Tari, she climbed into her lap. “Mama.” she whispered softly. “Mama, wake up.”
Tari blinked, bleary-eyed. “Oh, greetings, Parja.” she mumbled, clearly still drowsy from sleep.

The sound of the engine was comforting and she hummed softly as she scooted back just a bit against her father. Her eyes flicked back towards him, her head tipping slightly in curiosity. Eventually, however, she shrugged and began to look for Tari.
Ignis nodded, turning the bike as he drove it over towards the park and he said. “Go ahead and run on, I will park and catch up.”
“But I don’t wanna.” she whined, refusing to budge from her seat in front of her father. “I wanna look for Mama with you.”

She grinned beneath the oversized helmet. She loved bikes, something both Revan and Ignis had instilled in her.
Scooting backwards slightly, her fingers curled tightly into his clothes. It was an awkward position, her arms going to hurt after stopping, but she didn’t mind.
Stripes chuckled under his helmet as he felt the kid cling to him. He sped up even more, taking the highway across the city to reach their destination faster.
“I hope you don’t have speed sickness.” He said into the speaked in his helmet.
“I don’t get motion sick.” Parja replied, grumbling just a bit as they went off, more than a little self-satisfied she had managed to drag Stripes to the zoo with her. “I have my own bike, you know.”
“I insist honey.” He chuckled lightly while the engine revved and the two took off down the road in a blur. Ignis was always careful with Parja but he wouldnt be boring.
Again, she rolled her eyes at him before she leaned back against him, humming happily. She loved going for rides with her parents.
Ignis was careful as they drove through the town and kept her steady on the seat. Within time they pulled up towards the hospital that Tari worked at, as he said. “Do you want to go inside now? Or maybe go exploring a bit more.”
Parja shrugged. There was a park nearby and, as the daughter of two war deities, her need to incite a fight was strong. She took sustenance from it, after all. “Let’s check the park----maybe she went for a walk.”

He climbed onto the seat behind her, making sure she was secure as a helmet was placed down on her head. “Your mother would kill me if you didn’t have this on.” As the motorcycles engine hummed to life and started to inch forward.
Parja rolled her eyes at he put her helmet on. “Which one, Daddy? You do know Mother never asks me to wear a helmet, right?” Still, she made no move to push the helmet off.
“Then I guess we will head there. Shall we take my bike?” He asked, as he always knew that Parja enjoyed riding his motorcycles that he kept at his home.

The young deity shrugged. “If you haven’t seen her, maybe Mom will have.” Mom. That would be Revan. “Or—-do you think Mother would know?” it was probably for the best that they ask both Revan and Ruusan before looking for Tari. “Or do you think she went to a hospital?”
“If anything, Mom would know.” Ignis replied with a smile, while looking into her eyes. “Tari certainly wouldn’t be in the hospital, she is too good for that.” At least he hoped so, Tari was strong and could keep herself safe.
“She’s a healer, Daddy.” Parja pointed out, giving a huff in reply. “She wouldn’t go because she’s hurt.” Few people were strong enough to hurt any of her family----not even Udelsa, who was only a demigod thanks to her own father’s mortal status.

In the meantime before Stripes returned, Parja had decided to practice naming parts. She stood next to the bike, pointing to each part and naming them. She didn’t seem to mind his distaste for her.
“If you say so.” she replied, climbing onto the bike in front of him. Like her birth mother, she was short, though not nearly so as her sister Udesla was thanks to Tari.
Stripes checked his phone, but sadly there was no urgent messages saying he was summoned by Revan orsomething. He was sentenced to spend the day in the zoo.
“Hold on, monkey.” He growled, kickstarting his bike, then rolling down to the street. He wasn’t the kind to drive slow, so the flew on the road at a speed most policemen would have experienced a heart attack from.
