The Changlingsea

Yesterday, I almost wrote on here about how I was starting to feel like maybe my job wouldn’t kill me. Like, there was finally a slender thread of hope for the future.

It’s wild how having a sneeze attack can age you. I sneezed, like, 20 times in a row and I’m pretty sure that took at least a day off my life.

I just want to let everyone know that the the cordless glue pen I was so excited about fucking sucks. The battery life is absolute crap. The glue heating/reserve system is horrid. When you have to put a new stick in, which is incredibly hard to tell, you have to pump the trigger multiple time to feed the new stick down so you go from nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing to all the glue, which defeats the point of a tiny tip. Plus you are racing the shit battery death knell. Time for a hot glue skillet, I think.

I think my first test rug is going to be a wooly bear caterpillar. I’m excited.

On top of the life-changing tufting gun, I have also had a break through *fingers crossed* on my “build my own clothes project”. I did a moderately questionable draft sew and I think it will work. I might need to use that magnet trick to make sure I don’t cut my fabric too short but progress! I’m hoping to make something to wear for thanksgiving but, you know, 12 hour workdays might come into play. And I have to decide if I want to breakdown one of my previous attempts or start from scratch. Things to think about…

Those moments when you feel like buying a tufting gun would solve all your problems because you could sell cool, artsy rugs and not have to work 14 hour days.
