The shit takes place in some Siberian town, doesn't matter where really, just that it's cold in winter and hot in summer and there are many old shitty buildings. And it's like 90's - 00's ish. Economy is in shit.
Instead of shinigami there are shamans on horses. And horses are their kinda zanpakuto. They allow shamans to travel between soul society and living world. But other than that they're kinda the same.
Soul society's now FUCKING HUGE like, there are plains and forests and mountains and tundra, and to oversee all this the gotei or like. Yoke is divided in 13 tribes(?) and 12 are nomadic on their horses. Or not horses.
And normal souls formed towns and villages all around SS bc they have no horses and shamans need to chill sometimes. Some souls decide to travel with shamans, but it's a bit risky if you choose a wrong tribe(???) like the 12th or the 12th or 11th or 12th.
The first division is the only one settled tribe(????) at the centre of SS. The Grandpa sits there. That's all for now.
Second is the fastest and secretive, so they don't stop at settlements for long. And they're self-sufficient enough to not trade much. Not a good candidate for traveling as a merchant.
The third is fine, as fifth and eighth and ninth. Nothing really scary there. And tenth is ok too.
Fourth is good, they stay at villages for long, heal every unfortunate souls and they always need everything, good for sales.
Sixth is Great if you can convince them you sell some good shit. And they're slow.
Seventh are in tundra and somewhere really north, so it's just shitty and they lead an ascetic lifestyle so they don't buy or sell much.
Eleventh is fast and. Well, eleventh. Interesting thing is the head doesn't have the horse. He just rans. As fast as others horses.
Twelfth is scary, only crazy ones are brave enough to travel with them. They don't use horses, they move on giant fuckedup thing like the moving castle.
Thirteenth doesn't travel much and they're in the south. Ukitake needs his sun.
Ps: if soul ended up in the middle of nowhere shamas use their falcons to locate them. And they use them as communication.
