“God dammit.” Mindless grumbles passed red covered lips as Sohyun tapped fiercely at her device. Her French tipped, manicured nails were completely forgotten as she grew more frustrated with her game. It seemed to be a miracle the phone hadn’t been destroyed yet with how angry Sohyun felt. The brilliant idea of playing a game to pass the time seemed hopelessly stupid now that she had gotten so invested into it. The only time she stopped her vicious attack on the glass screen was when a small message popped up from Jinri.
A smile curled up on her lips as the anger washed away with a spout of joy. Not much longer and she could hug her friend and spend some much needed time together. It felt like just yesterday her mother was forcing her to leave the house to meet Jinri. She knew her mother from a previous meeting, but her daughter had been a mystery until that one afternoon just before starting college. The angel had been shocked to find out she was a demon, but they still grew close despite the difference in race.
When warm hands covered her eyes, Sohyun’s lips stretched even more. Her phone was left on the table, game long forgotten, as the angel jumped up happily. “Ugh finally!” She laughed and threw her arms around Jinri. It probably sounded really stupid, but Sohyun missed her warmth. Only a few people held a special place in Sohyun’s heart, her mother, her pretty cat Cleo, Jinri, and one or two others.
Once she felt satisfied with her tight hug, Sohyun stepped back to smile at the other with a childish glint in her eyes. “Wait what was your name again?” Playfully she stroked her chin and held a false confusion in her eyes, “It’s been so long, the name has escaped me! Maybe you’ll be so kind as to enlighten me again? I promise not to forget this time!” Sohyun held back giggles as she tried to keep in character, a sly grin just begging to break out on her lips.
