Social Media
We need to use social media for something besides being airheaded and seeking followers. Most of what I see in social media are people posting idiocy, when the country and the world is crumbling right in front of you
apparently YouTube has banned gun tutorials that explain what cant have happened in Vegas

We cannot selectively numb emotions, when we numb the painful emotions, we also numb the positive emotions.

Racism is Alive and Well
I find myself in a state of confusion. If everyone wants to be treated equally, why are all the ethnic groups screaming out about color and nationality? Just my opinion but you don't shout âBlack Lives Matterâ without implying that white, Hispanic, Asian etc., don't matter. Of course black lives matter. All lives matter. Yes I know, as soon as people see this, and see that Iâm white they will dismiss me as another racist white woman over the age of 50. They wont read far enough to know that I don't see color, I see people. I look for what a person has to say. If I am met with trash such as what flows out of Jamie Fox's mouth, or the butchering of the English language we now call Ebonics; I respond with thinking that person is ignorant and walk away. Your ancestor fought hard for equal education. It seems a bit ungrateful to their memories to make a bunch of gibberish to further separate yourselves from other races. Lets face it, you don't want equality, your want superiority and that only pushes us further from coming to understand and care about each other. I am white, my children are Hispanic and I have family who are mixed. We donât separate the thanksgiving table into white, Hispanic, black and mixed, we don't see each other that way. We are family and we love and care about each other. Donât scream to me about racism and then emphasize your color, ,because when you do so, you, yourself are the one seeing color, not me.Â
Are You Really Fighting for Equality Among all Peoples?
Ive been watching all that is happening in our country and around the world. What I see in all of this is a bunch of separate groups jabbing at each other. To the white child I would say: The Black child is not your enemy. To the black child I would say that the white child is not your enemy. To all children I would say beware of those who point out skin color.Â
To the black community I would say that you have strong and influential leaders behind your cause but, are they truly sending the right message. The ones that I see are strengthening the old habits and attitudes that have caused so much hatred and confusion. Are you treated equally? Its so very easy to see that you are not treated equally in all things. But your leaders and strong voices aren't calling for equality, they are screaming for superiority. The problem with your leaders and strong voices is that they still are basing everything on skin color. Am I to be hated by all blacks for being born with white skin? ]
By your own protests you do not want to be treated differently based on the color of you skin. So why are your leaders stressing skin color in every protest? Instead of screaming âBlack live matterâ, shouldn't they be screaming that all life matters?Â
To the equally separatist whites who are only hearing the word black; you should stop and examine the actual plight of so-called minority peoples. You should examine your own heart and try to comprehend that all people DO have the right to be treated equally.Â
You will never change people who hate you based on your skin color. You will never erase the stigma of color until the leaders and strong voices stop screaming about skin color and start screaming about every one being treated the same.Â

Please Share This Page: All too often I hear people talk about how crazy I am because I like to go into the wilderness with what a lot of people consider minimal gear. âHow can you survive out there like that?â they ask in amazement. Iâm quick to point out thereâs a difference between just âŚ

Is your personal safety at risk? Do your daily habits increase your risk of becoming a victim of a violent crime or home invasion? Most of us go through our daily routines with little or no thought to what or who is around us. College student to housewife, every one of us should be taking personal responsibility for our own personal safety. Some may say that our personal safety should be a problem for law enforcement, however, most of us don't have a police officer following us through our day or living in our home. Do you text while walking down a street or to and from class? Do you have beautiful shrubbery near doors and windows? Do you check your back seat before jumping in to your car? These are only a few examples of risky behaviors. This is an easy to follow guide to minimizing your risk factors.
