The news of Anthony Bourdain passing this morning got me all the way fucked up this whole day. I grew up watching this free spirit travel all over the world. He was a great storyteller and taught all of us how to love one another and appreciate all cultures. He made me want to visit everyyy single place he visited and eat all the foods he tried. He was an inspiration to many, and I am so deeply saddened about his death. Who would’ve known he was mentally suffering? It’s really crazy to me that someone with so much zest for life would feel that the world didn’t need them anymore or that there was no point in living anymore. We all have our demons, and today I was reminded to check up on my friends who look “happy” and are doing “well”. Some people are great at masking their true feelings and some people find ways of better coping with anxiety/depression. I’ve learned a lot in the past year about myself and my friends and just people in general. It’s always nice and comforting to know that you have people that care for you and want to know how you’re doing.
