Hi friends! Today I wanted to share swatches of the Summer 2016 Collection from LVX. These are all such lovely colors so let’s just get into it!
First up is Coquelicot which is a lovely bright red-orange polish. Just a great summer polish. Shown here is 2 easy coats!
Next is Bon Bon, a nice bubblegum pink. Very opaque with an easy formula. Shown is 2 thin coats.
Next is Saffron, a golden yellow polish. I have to admit I love love love shades of yellow. I was really impressed to see this in the collection. I think it’s a lovely, unique shade. Usually yellows tend to have a trickier formula but this one wasn’t too bad. I don’t think it was quite as easy as the other polishes in this collection but shown here is 3 thin coats.
Next we have Lush which is a dusty mint green. I’m always a fan of these shades as well and this is no exception. Shown here is 2 easy coats.
Next is Serene which is what LVX calls a “whimsical sky blue.” I really liked this shade as well. It’s just gorgeous on the nail and perfect for summer. Shown is 2 coats.
Lastly is La Mer, a lovely ocean blue. Certainly not the most exciting color but a nice one nonetheless. and a very easy formula. Shown is 2 coats.
Well I hope you guys enjoyed! As almost always with LVX, I loved this collection. There are certainly some gems in this one that I’ll be wearing again and again. Be sure to check out LVX’s site for this collection and all of their other gorgeous shades!

You might have noticed that I took a while off from doing reviews but when Kiesque emailed me asking me if I wanted to try their liquid nail tape- Liquid Palisade, I couldn’t say no! In the past I’ve been using simple Elmer’s glue as both a peel off base coat and as an ‘around-the-nail’ barrier so it was nice to finally use a real liquid latex. So let’s see how Liquid Palisade did!
So they sent me both the regular around-the-nail barrier and the french manicure barrier. I guess I haven’t really explained what Liquid Palisade is so let me do that first! Liquid Palisade is a liquid latex product specifically designed for nails. Effectively, this works as a liquid tape that allows super easy clean up when you to do messy nail art such as gradients. I’ll try to show more what I mean later in this post or you can check out Kiesque’s site.
So here’s the simple instructions provided on the back of the products. They really are this simple to use. Below is a photo of the regular, around-the-nail Liquid Palisade brush. It is a very nice width and length for the painting around the nail you’ll be doing.
I decided to test Liquid Palisade with a gradient since it seems like that is often the messiest nail art I get myself into. I started by applying two coats of China Glaze Sun Worshipper as normal and then applied a layer of Liquid Palisade all around my nails. I must say that it’s super easy to apply and dried very very quickly- just a couple minutes. As you can see in the photo below, it did end up drying bubbly but I believe that may be because it is very hot where I live and the fan was running in the room where I was working.
Next, I did the gradient as normal using a makeup sponge. (BTW for this gradient I used China Glaze Sun Worshipper (orange), Island Girl Diamond Head Breeze (light pink) and China Glaze Pool Party (darker pink)) The Liquid Palisade nicely stayed intact under all that polish around my cuticles.
Here’s what my nails looked like right after I peeled off the Liquid Palisade. I was definitely impressed with how easily it came off. They all came off nicely in one piece so I didn’t have to fuss with peeling a bunch of broken pieces. Clearly I’ll still have to do a bit of clean up on these to get them perfect but I think the Liquid Palisade did a pretty decent job of keeping the polish off of my skin. I’m sure with more practice I can get the clean up needed down to a pretty minimal level.
And then here’s what it looked like after clean up and a layer of top coat!
I decided to also test the thin brush version of Liquid Palisade too. Unfortunately I didn’t get a brush shot but I can assure you guys it’s pretty thin- it surprised me by how thin and easy to actually paint very tiny details it is.
In my opinion, there’s endless things you could actually do with this thin brush version. I think it’s great for super cool negative space designs or stripes or shapes or really anything. I decided to go with a sort of negative space design using glow in the dark polish. It’s pretty subtle in the photo above, but i used the Liquid Palisade to write “summer” in cursive across my nails.
Then I painted over my entire nail including the Liquid Palisade with glow in the dark polish. I waited just a couple minutes and then peeled the Liquid Palisade off. It surprisingly peeled off much nicer than I was expecting. Even with the quite thin pieces, it came off almost completely in one piece on each nail.
You can almost see the word summer in the photo above but to really get the full effect, I have to show you the dark photo!
Pretty cool, right? I actually gasped when I saw it for the first time because it turned out better than I thought it would. It’s kind of like a cool hidden surprise because since the glow in the dark polish is mostly clear, the writing is really only visible in the dark.
Overall, I really liked Liquid Palisade! Compared to the basic school glue I used in the past, it definitely is an improvement. I especially like that it consistently peels off in one piece and it has a very quick drying time. Oh and no smell in case you were wondering! Since it is purple, it makes it pretty easy to see where you need to peel. The only negative thing I’d have to say about it is that it’s just a bit expensive. Each bottle does cost $14 and it is a pretty small tube. If you’d like to learn more or purchase this, be sure to head over to Kiesque’s site! Thanks for reading!

I think it’s no secret that I love love LOVE cactus print... maybe a little too much. Anyway here’s another set of cactus print nails! Hand painted over a base of China Glaze Treble Maker
Yay, do I even paint anything besides florals? ;) I mean they’re just too fun. I did this lovely design inspired by one of my favorites of course, Kristin. I went with a simple base of one of my favorite nudes, @ciatenails Cookies and Cream and painted the flowers with China Glaze Queen B.
Hello friends! Today I swatched 6 gorgeous polishes from the LVX Spring 2016 collection. Here’s a bit about each:
Mondrian is a lovely bright pink toned red. This one was nearly a one-coater but I painted 2 thin coats + topcoat for this swatch.
Blush is the perfect pink toned nude polish. Super pretty color. And a perfect formula too. 2 easy coats + topcoat here.
Fleur is a lovely pink toned lavender. This color is just gorgeous. This was a bit streaky but I was able to get away with 3 thin coats + topcoat.
Aria is a BEAUTIFUL dusty blue-green. Definitely my favorite of the collection! Super easy to apply too, it was nearly a one-coater. Shown here is 2 thin coats + topcoat.
Azure is a muted teal color. Very gorgeous and very opaque on the nail. Shown is 2 thin coats + topcoat.
Lastly, Icon is a soft white polish. I’m always a sucker for these sheer polishes and I thought this was quite lovely. I wanted to show how this is a sheer polish so I applied 2 coats here + topcoat instead of 3 so it didn’t appear to be your basic white polish. I’ll probably be using this as a base color for designs in the future!
As always, I’m a huge fan of LVX. Their polishes are 7 toxin free, cruelty free + vegan! If you’d like to pick up any of these polishes, you can do so from their shop here!

Simple snowflake nails using LVX Lait, holographic glitter from Bonita and acrylic paint. Love how these photos turned out with our Christmas tree in the background.
I can’t stay away from florals! This is another design inspired by @glitterfingerlexa. I took inspiration for the flower color scheme after watching Ashley from Project Runway’s NYFW show. Such gorgeous flower headpieces her models wore! I started with a base of OPI My Favorite Ornament and hand painted the flowers with acrylic paint.
Oops somehow forgot to put up the nails I actually wore on Halloween. This Trick AND Treat design was 100% inspired by @glitterfingerlexa! I hand painted all of the details in acrylic paint.
SPIDERWEBS! So spooky, so scary, so Halloween! inspired by the lovely @leximartone. I started with a base of LVX Militaire, sponged on a darker grey and black, painted the webs with black acrylic paint and went over it once again with OPI Push and Shove. Love how these turned out!
latest blog post features swatches of the Meet Us At the Bar collection from CAKE Nail Lacquer. Super gorgeous polishes, be sure to check out the entire post for more pictures and my thoughts!

If you don't want to do nail art as a career then what career are you going for ? Just curious (:
I don’t mind questions like this at all btw :-) Currently I am in college as a computer science major. I’m not 100% sure what exactly I want to do with this but I plan to have a career in this field.
