Bridgerton book series #6: WHEN HE WAS WICKED Book review 💙 (contains spoiler)
Synopsis:
In every life there is a turning point. A moment so tremendous, so sharp and breathtaking, that one knows one's life will never be the same. For Michael Stirling, London's most infamous rake, that moment came the first time he laid eyes on Francesca Bridgerton.
After a lifetime of chasing women, of smiling slyly as they chased him, of allowing himself to be caught but never permitting his heart to become engaged, he took one look at Francesca Bridgerton and fell so fast and hard into love it was a wonder he managed to remain standing. Unfortunately for Michael, however, Francesca's surname was to remain Bridgerton for only a mere thirty-six hours longer—the occasion of their meeting was, lamentably, a supper celebrating her imminent wedding to his cousin.
But that was then... Now Michael is the earl and Francesca is free, but still she thinks of him as nothing other than her dear friend and confidant. Michael dares not speak to her of his love... until one dangerous night, when she steps innocently into his arms, and passion proves stronger than even the most wicked of secrets
Review:
This the second novel I loved second to the bridgerton book series number 2. Francesca, as she was widowed 2 years after her first marriage, It was painful for her, for she truly loved the former earl. She just wanted to have a family of her own. But then tragedy happened and her best friend, close confidant and also the cousin of the former earl and also known as a "rake", Michael became the Earl and inherited everything apart from Francesca, whom he loved for so long. He went to India and came back after 4 years only to find out that he hasn't moved on from her.
I bawled so hard for Francesca. For her struggles and pains. Especially after her marriage with Michael, we expect that she is happy because she also loves him. But there is something she wants. She wanted to bear a child. At first Michael doesn't understand or he just thinks that women are like that, sometimes sensitive to something like that . But as time goes by he feels sad because he wants her to be happy, whenever their nephews and nieces run towards them every family gathering . It seems he knew that Francesca wanted that also tho for him its fine, with or without child he loves her. ♥️
Favorite line:
"I will love you, for the rest of my life, I promise you I will lay down my life for you. I will honor and cherish you"
-Michael Sterling, Earl of Kilmartin
So yeah this is the first book I reviewed. Although I watched book 1 and 2 in netflix but I will definitely read it too. I am also done reading book 3-5 and will just post my review some other time.
