happy 41st birthday to the amazing album Little Creatures, released by Talking Heads back in 1985 this day!

the birthday falls very fittingly into MDS (Mad Dogs Summer, if you didn’t know by now), as the last track on the album, Road to Nowhere, is a big part of the show; especially its last series - outro song for the entire show, the phrase “road to nowhere” is placed everywhere, and the entire atmosphere seems to be based on the phrase.

the song used in the final episode is a cover version (a very beautiful one by Nouvelle Vague, released in 2009), yet as a big Talking Heads fan, it still got me perked up (and also tearing up, but let’s not talk about that). an absolutely perfect song to play for the ending - encapsulating the events of the first ever episode to the finale, as the ending for the four men becomes quite obvious.

as the song is played at a very spoiler-filled part of the show (literally the very ending), it’s best for me not to post a video from the show, but the song instead as a celebration to the great album, a great song, and the great show :)

(yes, Road to Nowhere was released as a single just a week before the album (3rd of June), but uhhh… i forgor 😬😔)
