Also ngl your take on Thomas in the 5th panel is genuinely almost entirely accurate to my Sodor516 canon. Thomas does struggle with the idea of being property same as the other engines, but he takes it pretty hard. His relationship with Edward is akin to something like an older mentor figure and father. Tell me you pay attention to my lore and know how to write good character drama without telling me bro I am so impressed 🤩✨💖

Now, when I first started to get into t&f, I always forgot about Henry because he was just never appealing to me. I don't really know how to explain it, but I was more thrilled to see other characters on Steam Team like Percy, James or even Edward, but the episode that changed my entire view of his character is Henry's forest. I mean, the episode itself wasn't really anything special, it was more like a filler episode, but for Henry, it meant more character development and more personality to a rather genetic character. I loved the idea that Henry was just a gentle giant, who desperately tried to hide his true self by wearing a tough guy facade, while ultimately being in love with something as simple and peaceful as nature and plants, trees and animals. When it comes to his sudden personality change to a more fragile, scaredy engine, I would understand the change of that persona if it happened right after the Flying Kipper incident, but he was lowk fine after the incident, so why change the personality now? Well, the simple answer would be bad writing choices. It's not like I'm against Henry's new personality, infact, I think I'd be a pretty good representation of ptsd and trauma, but it was done very poorly, with timings being odd and out of character. (And because we have too many whiny personality traits already...) Anyhow, for his driver au personality, he is a bit paranoid and fragile, but only after the incident, for his past self was much more cold and grumpy. The reason why he was always sick and couldn't work properly is because he has atrial fibrillation, a condition where his heartbeat is irregular. When he had episodes of rapid increase in pressure, he'd experience a cardiac arrest, meaning he'd be out of breath, while his heart stops pumping blood, and would pass out. That's initially how the incident occurred. He had one of these episodes while delivering the Flying Kipper, thus resulting in a severe incident. He recovered bla bla bla, and finally, we are met with the version of Henry nobody could recognize, from being grumpy, having mood swings, rude, stubborn and always seemed sick, to a much more mature, soft-spoken and intelligent nature lover!
