To suggest that the various tendencies within the Kenyan Left merely represent different but equally legitimate approaches to socialism is to replace scientific socialism with ideological relativism.

History advances through struggle.
Marx and Engels struggled against utopian socialism.
Lenin struggled against Economism, Menshevism and anarchism.
Stalin struggled against both Right opportunism and ultra Left adventurism.

You know the phrase "you couldnt torture that out of me?" That's how I feel every time I see someone proudly mention they're a US military veteran. Like, that's embarrassing. That's pathetic. You're a proud murderer? You're a proud imperialist? A proud racist? Proud for helping perpetuate violence, terror and genocide around the world? You can't even say you deserve grace for being reformed or some shit cuz you aren't embarrassed by it enough to not give that information away for free. You're a loser.

Reading Losurdo’s Liberalism has been very eye opening because the justifications for preserving capitalist social relations by the defenders of the system haven’t changed. They talk about working class organization and socialism being an infringement on “liberty”, and that by blocking uncontrolled capital accumulation it’s turning property owners into “political slaves”. The authoritarian line is part of the same old talking points. Ironic because in the same book they are quoted working class cooperation and trade unions are viewed as horrific by them and make no qualms about banning them! No liberty there. Huh?
