Bro hot take UNLESS your opinion of fictional characters is rooted in bigotry. There is no way to be hypocritical in regards to characters you like or don’t like. I don’t care if these two characters are the exact same type of evil if you like one and you hate the other just cause you only vibe with one of them that is completely fine. It’s a fictional story it doesn’t matter. People probably won’t agree with your opinion or might be confused by it but they can’t tell you you have to like a specific character because they’re actually similar to the character that you do like. That’s not how liking characters works.

I think a lot of people don’t understand that becoming an adult doesn’t mean you automatically are no longer affected by your parents transphobia. When you turn 18, or even when you turn 20 there’s not some magic switch that says you’re independent now. For a lot of people that means still being closeted at home, still having no access to medically transition. People always act confused why I haven’t left their house, gone no contact, started HRT. Bro I’m a college student working a minimum wage job, how am I meant to achieve that? Not everyone can just put their foot down and make their parents tolerate their queerness.
