and idk, i also read gurathin as very much on a demisexual scale, where he needs to form an emotional connection and respect (ahem, hero worship) and place the person into one of his hierarchical categories to be attracted to them, to see them that way, like, looking at his vision of mensah, it's not a sexualizing/objectifying scene at all. none of that "laughing dead wife under the sheets" flashback bullshit. no leering camera pans up and down. just her hands and the profile of her face. it's a visualization of how he perceives her and himself in relation to her. the way she moves is so incredibly graceful, her movements are measured, contemplative, slow. she carries a heavy weight in her heart and mind, yet her touch is gentle, her hands weave intricate patterns. there is complexity and elegance to every stroke. it's so mesmerizing it's hard to look away. at some point she turns around, and her face is one of concern and care but it's not about him, right, like she never makes eye contact, she never looks back at him. and it's his idealized perception of her, like the basis for this is probably her just doing some regular dancing, like her dance moves in the pilot. he sees what he sees, and he imagines what she sees (which is not him).
