Running out of alt names for Corpsehouse. Carrionmansion. Cadavercastle. Where do I go from here? Remainsbungalow? Dead-guyapartment?
“You wouldn’t steal a car” but when the studio behind your favorite series refuses to release it on any kind of physical media you do what you have to do … and build a completely custom box set from scratch.
In relation to my brutalism yapping: I have a cool buildings blog now. @cadavercastle if anyone is vaguely interested in picture of cool building
Not book smart or street smart but a secret third thing.

Listening to some interesting essays on brutalism while I'm at work. Honestly at this point I'm convinced the styles main problem (in regards to it's popularity and how it's seen by the common public) is the context it's placed in. When you get pictures of brutalist structures surrounded by nature or the inside of the buildings, or even beside each other youre bound to hear somebody pull out a "I don't normally like brutalism, but..."
And it's like. Actually maybe people do like it. Maybe it would be less hated if it wasn't so often just shoved in right next to everything else. Of course it's going to look like dogshit in a city populated by fifty other different styles, especially with more traditional building works
Of course this doesn't account for every single brutalist building. Sometimes it is just shit. Sometimes it's just badly designed. But sometimes I think we give undue grievance to the object due to poor context, and the people placing these buildings are considering it's design in isolation before they consider the context as a whole
You wouldn't stick a Rothko in the middle of a bunch of renaissance paintings. the same should apply to architecture but so often doesn't, especially in big cities
^ also a really good point

job interviewer: would you be willing to destroy and betray yourself for nothing?
Shocking amount of house related autism for a person who doesn't own one
