back in january i wrote 1k of a bitty/parse bakery au in my notes app in the middle of the night. little did i know that nugget would keep growing and growing and growing until it became the second longest thing i have ever written! 50k words and six months later, here it is:

growing pains

bitty/parse, rated E, 50k (now complete)

Maybe moving to Las Vegas right after his breakup with Jack wasn’t the best move for Bitty, but here he is: lonely and sad, and not really sure what to do with his life. Luckily, there is someone who knows everything there is to know about being heartbroken, lonely and sad in Vegas.

it's been frustrating, fun, joyful, rewarding and so, so incredibly stressful to write for a fandom i'd not written for before, to break (my beloved) jack & bitty up, to have this idea get so much bigger than what i usually write, and to write about moving home, about loss, and about building life anew, which maybe hits a little close to home rn.

I am a raccoon biologist and one of the few people in the state allowed to take in captive bred raccoons that had been possessed illegally. The raccoon in the photos is Moonshine, but she is currently at the animal sanctuary where I work as I had been quarantining multiple new intakes from an abuse case. I still have two males (Rum Tum Tugger and Electra) left in my home enclosure as we are getting them neutered and then hopefully sending them to an AZA accredited zoo.
