Hello, I hope this email finds you well! My name is Carmen Vasquez and I am excited to be joining PTMC as Executive Assistant to CMO, Gloria Underwood.
To introduce myself, I hold a Master of Science in Health Care Management from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Minor in Science and Public Policy from Barnard College. For the past five years, I've worked with various non-profit organizations to secure grant funding and restructure internally with the goal of optimizing productivity while ensuring resiliency. I am passionate about examining systems and structures to first understand its functions and short-comings, and using data to innovate where needed.
To be transparent, I was brought on to assist Ms. Underwood in bridging the gap between staff, patients, and administration. It is my understanding that there is a disconnect within PTMC that interferes with the overall culture and functionality of the hospital. As a public safety net hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center, it is essential to the health and wellbeing of all patients that every staff member feels that they are safe, heard, and valued.
With collaboration, honest communication, and compassion, I firmly believe that we can collectively work to make PTMC a better environment for every person who walks through our doors. In the coming days, I will be visiting each department and I hope to speak to you all about your goals and visions for improvement.
