Jacob smiled at that, stuffing his hands into his pockets as they walked. He missed out on so much of her life, he constantly had to question whether or not it was worth it. He liked to believe it was. Maybe even needed to believe it was. For now, it was sweet to just hear about Astine. "She was a firecracker... Kind, fiercely so, but she would never let anyone get pushed around. We got into trouble back then -- sneaking out of town and doing bonfires by the lake. It was fun. She was fun."
carine happily walked alongside him, unable to shake the feeling like they had both been robbed of time together over the years but that could be changed now. she smiled at him, getting to hear what type of person her mum was like when she was younger. "you were? that sounds like her." she laughed. her mum the troublemaker. "she always made sure there was fun to be had even with the most boring tasks. she has these photo albums, they're filled with pictures of people from here. i guess that would be you and the group of friends you both had. i can give them to you if you'd like. it seems only fair that you have access to them."
