maybe this is just my two cents as someone who is also very nominally a #content creator but I don't think it's weird to date someone who enjoys your work. like. idk. making mediocre videos about books and then dating someone who likes them isn't a #problematic power dynamic.

really wild that it seems like so many people online are freaking out about that dude in the odyssey film throwing a puppy off a cliff and even the ones who didn't saying that it illustrated how utterly foreign and alien and offputting a True representation of ancient greek morality would have been to modern audiences when like. well we have seen video of modern soldiers, modern american soldiers, throwing puppies off cliffs. not to mention obviously torturing and murdering human beings, but if the puppy the issue here, i mean, that one video of that usmarine in iraq was a huge deal when i was a teenager and whether it's a misplaced audience sympathy issue where people will feel worse about a dog being hurt on screen than a human, that video was specifically a marine throwing a puppy off a cliff. and yeah it caused a huge scandal, but everyone saw that video. kids saw that video and shared it in school. we've seen video every day for the past three years of soldiers sniping children and infants and also gleefully indiscriminately torturing humans and animals. it's completely mundane and common behavior fully within expected boundaries of wartime morality in supposedly "civilized" militaries in the year 2026. people will say oof yeah that soldier probably shouldn't have done that, what a shame, but everyone knows it will keep happening because it has been happening nonstop since i was a child. very very silly to me for people to act like throwing a puppy off a cliff specifically is some kind of horrific moral boundary that nolan is only barely able to touch in the film in order to show us a glimpse of moral transgression that's the absolute limit of what a modern audience can handle.

anyways. happy 10th anniversary to the night we called the cops on my dad and got him arrested, he got a friend of his to bail him out, and the immediate first action he took was walking from jail back to our house where we promptly called the cops and got him arrested a second time
