welcome to dolph's blog! watch him stumble through doing normal people things like having social media :P

for a bit of explanation, the timeline is post captain laserhawk s1 <3 what we know so far about dolph is that he's dead and in some pixel world. since he has all the time in the world and inexplicable internet connection, why not try something new?

things to note:

this dolph is canon based with a bit of headcanon! headcanon in the sense of dolph's text habits and overall worldbuilding. canon in the sense that hes an emotionally constipated asshole still nursing his wounds after breaking up with his first love

i roleplay semi frequently, so dont be afraid to go all out! my main style is paragraphs and im literate! all i ask is to please keep interactions pg-13. i'd rather not erp with dolph, nor do i want to put that on anyones timeline. simping is okay, jus dont start cat calling (think things like 'tip colour is #fff382' or 'i know its brown')

shipping is fine, but dont expect a consistent pairing. this dolph isnt, and wont be in a good place to maintain a relationship lol

i am new to tumblr rping, so please feel free to give me feedback! im much more used to rping on discord and roblox, so please be patient if im not doing something right :3

Jade quickly ran his way down to his door and opened it, smiling.

“ Hey! My god, it’s so amazing to see you. ”

He lets Dolph inside, and tries his best to move all the papers in his room around— just random articles of things on Eden.

Dolph's four cats greet him first, meowing and rubbing against Jade's legs. One, Liam, even attempts jumping on him. Dolph makes his way into the apartment, trying to keep the cats (and his heart) under control.

"It's good to see you too." He looks around Jade's room.

"Nice room."

He chuckles, while(also trying not to freak out) patting Liam and picking him up, holding him.

“ These guys are so sweet… Hey little guy, haha! ”

Jade basically baby talks at Liam for a couple seconds before realizing Dolph is legit standing there and awkwardly laughs again.

“ Hah, sorry, here. You can sit with me here. ”

Jade goes and sits at the… couch? bed? It kinda was both almost, and pats the spot next to him.

Dolph joins Jade on the couch. bed. thing. The rest of Liam's siblings get on it, with Lucy taking her usual spot in her dad's lap. Lucian rubs against Jade's arm and Lucas hides behind Dolph. They both awkwardly sit there. Dolph is petting Lucy out of slight anxiety.

Jade sits there silently for a minute, before speaking.

“ So, how’ve you been? Well, I mean you’re dead so that’s probably not a good question… But how are you, well, adjusting to all of this? ”

He slightly cringed at his attempt to initiate conversation, but still kept a small smile on his face anyway.

"...I've been taking it well. Best break I've had."

He glances up at Jade's face, and guilt washes over him. He can't help it when he blurts out, "I'm sorry."

He pauses, realising what he's done. Great. One minute in his apartment, and you ruined the mood Dolph.

Jade blinks for a second. He’s… sorry?

“Sorry… for what? ”

Jade shifted slightly close, leaning in curiously. Sorry? He had nothing to be sorry for, at least in his eyes.

Well, if he already fucked up, might as well go the full mile.

"You... died. You died because of my stupid ass pissing off Pagan Min. God, Jade, I'm so sorry. Out of everyone there, you were the least deserving of a bullet to the chest. It should have been me."

Dolph's speaking in a tone unfamiliar to Jade as he almost trudges through his words. He keeps look at him with this intense sadness in his eyes, like if he stopped looking at Jade, everything will go lopsided.

Jade is stunned in silence for a while, as Dolph explains. When he finishes, his eyes soften at him.

“ Oh… Dolph, all of that wasn’t… your fault…. ”

His hand briskly touches Dolph’s regular hand, before he flinches it away.

“Listen… Pagan Min was a god damn lunatic, okay? Trust me, I’d know. What he did that day, nobody in The Ghosts could have predicted that. He knows how to tactic fear, I just… was bad at hiding my own emotions. Okay? It was never your fault. ”

Jade explains, smiling gently at him. He cant imagine ever blaming Dolph for his death, at all. One of the lasts.

Dolph glanced down at Jade's hand brushing against his, the feeling of it like heat flashes on his skin. He pushes it aside as he looks back at Jade, taking in all of his words. The intensity in his eyes fades, softening as he processes this. He nods. "...If you say so."

Slowly, a weight lifts off his chest.

“ I do say so. You especially didn’t deserve to get shot that day, especially considering you had already been shot before, your body couldn’t have recovered in that much amount of time and… ”

Jade speaks a bit… too passionately about how much he was taking care of himself at the time, before pausing.

“—Sorry. But, yeah…. so, haha, how’s it been taking care of these guys?”

Jade quickly changes the topic to avoid the soon to be awkward feeling hanging on them. He pats one of the cats when asking this.

Dolph doesn't really know how to feel about Jade's reassurance. It was nice, but he definitely felt there was something a bit more intense to it.

"It's been nice. A bit hard at first, but I got it down. No complaints from any of them, but they like scratching my arm and face." He gestures to his cybernetic parts. Funnily enough, Lucas seems to be prepared to pounce at his reflection in Dolph's arm.

"They help with the loneliness."

Jade sighs happily and watches Lucas as he pounces at his reflection on Dolph’s arm, which makes him laugh a bit and pet him.

“ What are all their names, by the way? I don’t think I’ve asked. ”

Jade speaks curiously, tilting his head a bit to the side.

"The one you're petting is Lucas. The other one you were petting and baby talking is Liam. Lucian is..."

He takes a moment to look around the room, until he realises that the curled up ball of fur on the floor is Lucian. "Taking a nap right there. And this one in my lap is Lucy. I got her dropped on my lap, then the rest of them were dumped on me."

Dolph has a small smile on his face as he pets a purring Lucy.

Jade notices how much Dolph smiles about his cats, and it makes his heart warm. He wishes he was happier like this all the time.

“ I kinda took you for a cat person, honestly. They seem to love you, which I completely understand. ”

Jade laughs at the slight complement he gave Dolph, and prayed that he either didn’t notice or would move on from it.

“ You got a cactus? That’s cool! I didn’t even know plant life could exist here. I think you’re doing a fantastic job honestly. They’re pretty happy in your care. ”

Jade scratches Liam under his chin, who had placed himself on his lap during the conversation.

“ It’s a good thing to not be lonely here. I tried to talk to some of the locals here, but they seemed more interested in being left alone. ”

"You can't just say the plants are happy too without seeing them."

He does pause at Jade talking about the locals here. Someone seems a bit disgruntled at the mention of them.

"I think they're annoying. Whenever I walk outside, they stare like I'm some freak. Yeah, thanks for coming out here, can I walk my cats?"

Dolph shrugs. "It's whatever. I'm more surprised that they wouldn't talk to you than me. You're much more approachable than me."

Dolph does not notice the compliment because he's reminiscing on the night the cats got dumped on him. His smile pulls into a tight line as his light tone is weighed down by bitterness.

"Yeah. It did work out I guess."

He wants to say more on the matter, but how does one really articulate something like that? Jade's not a child soldier, he's nothing like Dolph. He wouldn't understand Dolph's current struggle. So he just continues to pet Lucy for a moment, calming himself down.

Once calm, he continues to speak.

"They better, they have to live with me. I try my best for them, though they're a bit much. They like trying to knock down the cactus I got."
