There are so many ways to make moodboards, bookcovers, and icons without infringing copyright! As artists, authors, and other creatives, we need to be especially careful not to use someone else’s work and pass it off as our own.

diamonds & art movements

i’m not art history smart so this is absolutely nothing academic or anything but i like to have fun. so here are the art movements i associate the diamonds with

white: art deco art deco is upgraded industrial design, new materials, decorative patterns, streamlined, symmetrical, aerodynamic. nothing is cheap about art deco materials! luxury and modernity!

yellow diamond: cubism i threw in a suprematist work too (the one right below yd’s picture) bc i can. cubism is fractured forms, elongated faces, irrational spaces, representing multiple viewpoints. simplification and abstraction!

blue: baroque i’m not too sure about this one, honestly, but i do know that sculptures and paintings of crying women are very blue diamond. byzantine could work decently as well. baroque is emotionally expressive, has dramatic subjects, strong darks and lights, and their churches focus on oval forms. movement, emotion, drama!!! and lots of long, flowing clothes
