Get up and earn that bread!

Hey gang. I come to you with sad news, though some may already have seen it coming, some may already have made peace with it long ago and others may not really see a difference at all.

I decided to stop posting on this blog permanently. I know I already hardly posted at all, but I really was planning to come back with new posts, Teto updates, new artwork... I just never found the time.

Now my job situation has changed as well, my mental health took a new hit and that needs to be fixed and it doesn't seem to me like I am the type of person that is made to run a blog at all..

I was at work one day when the URL popped into my head and made me giggle. "Someone has to make that a thing!", I said. I cobbled together a little blog and expected to maybe get a like or maybe even a reblog from someone who sees it. What I did not expect was for this to actually take off. I did not think I'd get followers and actual people who shared my love for Kasane Teto.

I really wanted to give it my all, but it just never worked out and I am deeply sorry.

The sudden validation and appreciation I was facing from all of you was one of the best experiences I ever had on the internet, but it was also overwhelming.

So while this is goodbye, there are plenty of other, actually maintained and well kept blogs to follow. I will still be part of the fandom. Additionally I will still be the main moderator in the Kasane Teto appreciation station-community here on tumblr. both will just show to be very silent roles.

I want to say thank you to all the people who saw me being dumb and still decided to follow and drop some likes and reblogs on me. Every single notification made me happy.

I am fascinated by the aspect of someone stumbeling upon me without knowing the Tet.

I'm gonna sit down and try to enlighten you in my own words, though there are plenty of other resources if you wanna read up more. (Specifically her about page, though it is in japanese.)

So her tale starts on april 1st 2008 (that's where the numbers 0401 on Teto's arm come from!). Users on 2Chan worked together to create a fake vocaloid character, working together to give her a design and personality. The twin drills, the love for baguettes, and the chimera gender/species/state of being all came to be here.

Soon Teto got her own voicebank for the free software UTAU provided by Oyamano Mayo, soon followed by her first song closely followed by famous Hatsune Miku song "Triple Baka" by Lamaze-P which used Teto's voice for the chorus background vocals!

(There are a ton of very notable musical stepping stones but for the sake of keeping this post as short as I can I will only mention two more: -"Teto Territory" is a parody song of "Zutto Chirno no taan" [it's always Cirno's turn] by 9destiny [itself based on Cirno's theme from touhou created by ZUN]. It describes a lot of Teto's characteristics and became somewhat of an anthem. -"Fukkireta" by Lamaze-P which sprung forth a meme that became so huge that it bridged a then small internet and became an international meme that is still relevant today.)

Her popularity only grew from there.

In 2023 on Teto's 15th anniversary AH-Soft announced the release of the Synth-V voicebank for Kasane Teto, complete with a redesign and a crisp clear AI voice. This launched Teto's popularity further than it had ever been.

Teto is (next to Hatsune Miku) the most popular virtual singer in the world.
