Back to school means back to music and art! Our fall registration is open for music lessons and art classes. We are happy to announce that both of our programs have expanded, adding new instruments, new art classes, and additional staff! A huge CONGRATULATIONS to all of the Music Video Camp students for finishing a fully produced music video.  The students wrote and recorded a song and then storyboarded, scripted, and shot the video.  We did this all in ONE WEEK!  Our next music video camp will be held from July 23-27.  Sign up now, enrollment is limited to SIX kids. (Ages 10+)

Creativity!

Looking for something to do this summer? We have a huge variety of summer camps for 2012! Beat the heat and get creative at PLaY! Music and Art. We have camps for all ages and interests for both music and art related activities. Click on the camp name for more info and registration.

Flexibility!

This year we are teaming up with Steve Odom's Martial Arts to offer full day camps. They will provide (optional) morning camps from 9:00am - 12:00pm then transfer the campers to us for art camp from 12:00pm - 3:00pm. They will also offer before and after care for the hours of 8:00am - 9:00am and 3:00pm - 4:00pm.

JOINED FORCES Music Video Camp

This is our featured summer camp for 2012. In 2011, the Joined Forces camp wrote, recorded, and produced a song that was published on a CD to share with friends and family. This year, we are taking it one step further and producing a music video that will be published on YouTube. The campers will compose an original song, record it, storyboard the video, shoot, edit, and star in the video, and then publish it for the world to see! This is definitely going to be the most talked about summer camp of the year! Space is very limited, REGISTER NOW!

Manga and Comics Camp

Draw your own Comics and Manga with professional comic artist Shawn McCauley (Zenescope's Grimm's Fairy Tales, Discovery Channel's 10 Deadliest Sharks, Monster Hunter's Survival Guide). Learn the fundamentals of comic book story telling, as well as the techniques and tools the pros use to bring these stories to life! From sketch, to pencils, to inks, you'll have your own finished comic book page by the end of this one week camp!

Native American Arts Camp

Each day features a legend, related craft and Native American skill including fire making, moccasin making, weaving and native GA plant identification. Take home a unique craft each day while learning about the Native American culture.

Art Camp

A variety of arts and crafts projects. Each day will be a different art or craft. Each week will also include one canvas painting day. The camp runs from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Junior Music Camp

This music camp will encompass all aspect of music at a beginner and intermediate level. Learn the basics of rhythm, melody, and age appropriate music theory. Explore various instruments, learn how to play as a group, and participate in various forms of movement and music. This is the perfect camp for those who are looking to explore and expand in the world of music.

Play Music and Art's first piano recital will be held at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living Center in Crabapple from 2:30pm - 4:00pm on Saturday May 12, 2012.  We are very proud of our piano students that have worked so hard throughout the year!

Let us host your birthday party and have a blast! Our birthday parties feature a guided group painting with a painting of your choice. The 2 1/2 hour party allows plenty of time for food, cake, and presents. The memories from a birthday at Play Music and Art will last a lifetime, and each child leaves with a completed painting.Custom artwork is available with at least 3 weeks notice.

If you send a reservation online or via fax, we will call you to confirm. All parties require a non-refundable 50% deposit upon booking and the balance is due the day of the party. If you are unable to keep your date, we will be happy to move your party to another date.

What age range of students do you teach?

We have taught students between the ages of 6 and 65. We welcome all well behaved children, their parents, and grandparents.

What kind of piano do you teach on?

The piano in our studio is a Casio Privia PX-310 Digital Piano. It’s a full 88 key digital piano with weighted keys, exactly like playing on a grand piano. The advantage to using a digital piano is volume control, the ability to change the tone of the piano, as well as recording capabilities.

Does my child need to buy a keyboard or a piano?

Homework will be given each week that will require access to a piano. Depending on the age and dedication of the student we can recommend a model of piano or keyboard for you to purchase. We have a small stock of pianos and keyboards for sale at the store at a competitive price.

One-on-one, private music lessons

Play! Music and Art offers one-on-one, private music lessons for a variety of instruments. Lessons are held once per week for 30 minutes each session. Typically you will recieve 4 lessons per month, but depending on the number of weeks in the month you may recieve 5 lessons. Tuition is $125 per month with no long term contract or commitment. Our $25 registration fee is waived if you enroll in our autopay program. Books, instruments, and other materials are not included in the tuition and may be extra. Our Teachers

We receive many applications from teachers on a weekly basis and choose to hire only the cream of the crop. Our business model operates solely on quality. Unlike many other music stores, PLaY! Music and Art only hires teachers with college education and years of previous teaching experience. Many music stores employ high school students with no previous experience in order to offer "discounted" lessons. Our teachers are a step above the rest!

Absolutely! We welcome all children, plain and simple.
