I’ve always been very very interested in genetics and selective breeding and whatnot which is why my favorite types of video games are the ones where you breed some type of creature and try to achieve certain stats or traits or something but like the downside to this is that I’m sure my less well-acquainted friends on steam probably think I’m a freak when they see the word “breeder” pop up in like 90% of the games I play like guys I promise it’s about like the genetics as not a game about getting bred by whatever noun came before that word

I would really like to at some point have a small operation breeding some sort of animal (probably an egg-laying fish because they can breed a lot faster and with fewer potential complications than things like lizards or mice) with the goal of focusing a lot of effort on avoiding inbreeding because that’s such a huge problem with a lot of the types of animals you’d find in a pet store but like unfortunately I don’t think my landlord would let me have like 20 fish tanks in my townhouse so for now I just have to play video games to satiate that particular hobby which is fine but also sometimes you sell like a really good horse you bred in HI3 in an auction for a lot of gold and it’s like damn I could instead be selling a bunch of really good fish for real money and be introducing better genetics into the aquarium trade and instead I’m raising virtual horses

in my farming sim game, getting married to one of the townspeople will have a significant impact on your gameplay. if you marry the rival farmer, their smaller farm will be merged with yours. if you marry the town alchemist/doctor you get a buff to all your alchemy and you wake up from getting knocked out in your own home instead of their clinic. if you marry the priestess she uh, idk she does weather related divine magic for you so you can choose the weather, idk i haven't thought too hard about that one yet
