TLC Pleasant Company Josefina and Samantha in need of a home!
Along with the Battat doll from my last post, I also found a PC Samantha and Josefina in the box of stuff. Now, I already have both of those lovely girls, so I’d love to make sure they go to a good home. I’d be glad to send them off for FREE to someone who wouldn’t mind a bit of work. I’m in the process of moving basically as far away from my current location as you can while staying in Michigan, and starting a new job, so I do not have it in me to do a weeks-long doll spa or to track down new wigs for them. I would also prefer to not take them with me across the entire state.
They are in … well-loved shape. They were originally my husband’s older cousins’ dolls before they made their way to his younger sisters & then our nieces. The pros are that they can both stand on their own, and they have no silver eye. However, that’s it. Their limbs and faces are dirty (but not scratched). Both of them have cut neck strings. Their hair is basically ruined: I tried the fabric softener method, but I tried to brush it and my spare doll hairbrush got destroyed. They would both almost certainly need new wigs.
This Josefina is from 2008, according to her body tag. Her hair is basically a write-off. Her finger and toenails have marker. Her eyelids have what I think is pencil (regular graphite pencil). Her face paint is in good shape under the grime. She comes with her camisa and skirt, and her herb-gathering camisa (which shows some markings, but can probably be cleaned).
This Samantha is probably from the mid to late 1990s. Her body tag is gone (or she never had one?), but the “Pleasant Company” mark on her neck looks handwritten. Her hair still has some visible waves but … it’s bad. One of her eyebrows isn’t really visible anymore. She had no associated AG-brand clothes, but there are handmade versions of her cloak and her bridesmaids dress, if you would be interested.
