The black note book

This is a viewer submission which was described to me as “model in Cleveland, Ohio art school, about 1912.”  Although we might have preferred him fully nude, the jockstrap (if that is indeed what it is) adds interest.  And that soap box is something, too.

Mutton chops here has quite a show going on, and he apparently didn’t bother to deal with his shoes until his pants were most of the way off.

My dogs go in for their annual check-up today, so you know what that means.  We start with a dog showing his tag in a bright color photograph of Rick Gordon by AMG … on Bob Mizer’s roof … again.

I’ve had this photo for years, and I’ve never figured out just what those loincloth-like things are that most of these guys are wearing.  Edited to add:  Our frequent contributor of knowledge perfectspecimens2 kindly wrote to tell us that those are German WWII soldiers wearing their “brotbeutel” or bread bag, a part of their uniform used to carry food.  Thanks!

We are way overdue for a day of the derriere, and all of today’s pictures are by one artist of some of his lesser known models.  Bruce Bellas, better known as Bruce of LA, was a pioneer physique photographer who was jailed several times for distributing his nude photos of men. Although it was mostly frontal nudity that got him arrested, it occurred to me that his pictures of men’s backsides are simply the best.  We start with this one of Glen Campbell … and no, this isn’t the singer.

Jerry was a handsome fellow, even with his clothes on.  I know a certain blog viewer who will like those hairy forearms!  (You know who you are, lol.)
