Out of all the fools Anathra had met thus far, Green was by far the most cautious. Anathra figured it was due to eir history- he hadn't heard much other than that e had lived in and survived an apocalypse world, but it explained a lot of the oddities about eir behavior. E sometimes seemed to jump at shadows, hand on the hilt of eir axe before Anathra could blink. E walked with the lightest steps Anathra had seen from anyone of eir stature, and e always, always knew the moment someone walked into a room.

Anathra also knew that Green had had to scavenge for food in overgrown gardens and old, abandoned buildings, never having a reliable or steady source. It had to be moving constantly to stay safe. It had gained a healthy amount of weight since Anathra had first seen it, though- it was much happier now overall, to his relief.

But that still didn't explain the most recent thing she'd been up to.

Anathra had found, over the past few weeks, no less than five full bundles (dyed green, of course) full of various filling foods, left for him. Golden carrots, meats and fish, regular carrots, pumpkin pies, baked potatoes... even some golden apples in one of them. They'd all been placed in locations Anathra visited frequently- places like the church organ, the museum, and even his own bedroom. Green was cute, but this was strange, even for xem. After all, there was an abundance of food here on Skyblock, more than enough to fill the bellies of three times the kingdoms that they had. Anathra himself hadn't known real hunger a day in his life.

(If he had, Kaos didn't let him remember. He was content with that)

Of course, Anathra still knew better than to question one of his Fools' actions without prompting. They all had crippling trust issues, and rejecting a gift from Green out of all of them would shatter that trust.

So, with no better plan, Anathra gathered a gift of his own to bring to his Green.

The gift he was preparing was, of course, more food. In an attempt to understand Green's odd choice in gifts as well as gift placement, Anathra had collected enchanted apples, regular golden apples, golden carrots, and even some ice cream from his and Acorn's ice cream recipes when they lived in the Spruce kingdom. Ah, the memories.

Now, the hard part was to wait for Green to appear.

His Fools did not control who was physically present, and he wasn't even sure if they knew there were more than one of them. Red was around most often, followed by Clover. Pink and Green were rarer, but about the same. Librarian had been around early on but had vanished a while ago. Blue and Gold, he had only ever met once or twice each.

Somehow, only a day after his preparations were made, he got lucky. Anathra woke up, sleepily walked outside his bedroom, and was promptly met with the sight of an equally-tired Green digging through one of the chests in their storage room. Green waved at him without turning around. He smiled to himself, and pulled the cyan bundle out of his inventory.

"Hello, Green! It's been a while, hasn't it? It's nice to see you again." Anathra walked over to Green. "I have something for you, actually."

"For me? Did I do something, or are you just being nice for no reason?" Green squinted at him, but there was a sparkle of humor in xyr eyes.

"I've much appreciated all the gifts you've left for me, so I thought I would put together a little something for you in return." Anathra held out the bundle, and Green took it curiously. Anathra watched as he pulled out the shiny fruits and veggies, and the sweet homemade ice cream (that could withstand the heat of the Nether kingdom, tested in Elffe's islands before).

Green had an unreadable expression on voids face. Anathra almost worried that he'd done something horribly wrong, but Green looked up at him and smiled a type of smile that was pure trust and care and thanks, and he smiled back at void.

"I- I may not understand exactly your motivations behind leaving me so much, but I know it's because you care for me. And I care for you. I've seen you healing from all of the awful things I know about and the ones I don't, you've been through so, so much. I want to be there to make it all worth it."

Green placed the bundle down, not taking a bite of anything yet. He jumped forwards at a sudden speed Anathra knew by now to only expect from his Fools, and embraced Anathra in a warm and soft and tight hug. None of the Fools cried easily or often, but Green's shoulders were trembling. Anathra returned the hug.

It was a long moment before either of them spoke, but it was a comfortable silence. Anathra always felt safest while in the arms of a Fool, and Anathra would sooner have Kaos reset his entire memory than let any harm at all come to his Green, especially right now.

"...I know you know I have... issues. Especially when it comes to resources like food and water. I... give you things because even though logically I know we'll never run out of food, it eases my mind to take care of you. Makes me feel like I'm doing something good, something that'll keep you safe. You know?" Green's voice was steady, but their hands shook.

"That makes sense," whispered Anathra back. "I want to take care of you too. However I can, however you'll have me. Island partners means we're there for each other."

Green nodded. Bit sniffed, and slowly unrapped bits arms. "Thanks. I- same, from me to you. I like having someone to protect."

"I'm happy to be that person for you, my Green."

They smiled. Then, they leaned down and picked up an ice cream from the gift bundle. "I wanna try the ice cream. I don't think I've had any before. It looks good."

Anathra laughed. "Of course. I can make you more, any time you like."
