“You’re already up, aren’t you?”

“Yeah. Sure. Whatever. Do you know the number?” it might have been out of character for Lucy to be willing to help another so easily, but the red head had no clue who she was. Although, she was vaguely familiar. “To call, you just hit the app with the phone on it -- then if they aren’t in your contacts, which I assume they aren’t, you go into the keypad and just dial it in.”

“Craftmanship or not, the entire idea of talking to dead people is fucking ridiculous. I just came to look at crystal pendants that I wouldn’t find at the Botanica.”

“You’re such a drama queen.” Lucy couldn’t help but laugh, rolling over so her body was facing Grayson’s. “Depends on my say, though, doesn’t it? I might just spend my next income on one and get them to torture you to death.”

“You’re becoming more tolerable by the second.”

“Why do you make that sound like it’s something you’d actually enjoy rather than fear?” Micah quirked a singular brow at the woman, his lips tilting upwards slightly at the corners. “Is it a crime now to hope for the best in people? Here I was under the impression that you might be using it as a façade, but it’s wonderful to know that this is just your usual jovial self. It’s a winning personality, I’ll tell you what.”

“Maybe because I don’t believe in the afterlife? Or whatever you want to call it.” Lucy quipped, taking another swig from her glass. “A crime? No. It’s just naive. You sound just like my sister, in that sense.” even though she was certain his remark was sarcastic instead of being insulted or uptight, she rather enjoyed it with welcoming arms. “Wouldn’t expect tall, dark and handsome to be so accepting.”

Light hazel hues rolled as the blonde spoke. “You know, in the time you’ve been making excuses you could have already started making my damn coffee.”

“Well, since you asked, old, grumpy male who smells like a mixture of musk and coffee kind of fits the agenda.”

“Don’t be such a pussy. Come on, you owe me. I blew most of my pay on you last night.”

“Are you sure you’re okay?”

Mia raised an eyebrow at her biting her tongue to keep herself from saying the first thing that popped into her mind. It was far too rude to say in public and truthfully, she shouldn’t even be thinking it. “Well, um…” She stumbled for a moment trying to think of an excuse as to why she wouldn’t. The last she knew it was 2007 which it clearly wasn’t according to the paper. Most likely she was probably crazy but Mia didn’t want to say that to the girl. “My parents are practically Amish, I swear… Never allowed such things in the house. But hey, I’m a big girl now… Figured it would be nice to be able to call my sister instead of trying to hunt her down.”

“Amish. No kidding.” the brunette shook her head in a disapproving manner before extending her hand, palm towards the sky. If it weren’t for the fact that she were looking for her sister, Lucy wouldn’t have half the mind to help her. When she didn’t feel the cool metal on her skin, she rose her brows. “Do you want me to help you or not?”

“What was that? I couldn’t hear you due to the lack of coffee beans filling the air with it’s salivating aroma.”

“I’m so tired, I wouldn’t care if you put Cyanide in it.” Lucy drawled in a monotonal manner. “Chop chop, Goldilocks.”

“Well I certainly hope that’s a challenge. Don’t get me all excited with hypothetical bullshit.”

“I’m always serious when it comes to alcohol. What’s your poison?”

“Oh, I love that outfit. Don’t tell me there’s actually a good shopping center in town.”

“God, no. There’s such a thing as online shopping, you know.”

“You want me to buy that hunk of junk? No way.”
