K.W Green Park Campground Campground #25
On this gold cup weekend the boys and I decided to pack up our bags with a friend and share a cabin at K.W Green Park in Tyne Valley, P.E.I.
We headed up after the parade, stopping at Star lite Diner for some Lupper, (cute little restaurant with old school feel, good prices and good food).
After our late lunch we continued on to Green Park and arrived around 3:30pm. As i checked in I was shocked to see that they had free wood for all guests!
We headed down to our cabin and were swarmed by the mosquitos as we were trying to set up. Once we got set up we had an early camp fire so we could smoke those mosquitos out. We tried some quick walks but the mosquitos were so bad that we just stayed by the fire till bed.
The next morning we enjoyed some coffee on the small cabin deck before heading to the Green Park Shipbuilding Museum. (Which is right next door!) We all enjoyed this tour and it was quite interesting to learn some old PEI history, even the kids enjoyed the museum, old school house, The Yeo family home tour & the blacksmith barn!
After our tour we went back for some lunch at the cabin and saw they were spraying for mosquitoes so the Saturday afternoon was a little bit more barable for mosquitoes.
We enjoyed the two little parks they had at the campground for the kids and walked between them for most of the afternoon/evening until it was trick or treat time.
We didn't realize it was Halloween at the campground till we got there but we improvised with what we had and went as "Happy Campers" .
When looking for the rec hall we found out that they also had a pool there, it was a little late by the time we noticed to go for a swim though, we are still not sure how we missed it.
The trick or treating took up our evening right until campfire time which we enjoyed with the kids till bedtime.
Once Sunday came it was raining again and we packed up as quick as we could and headed home.
My favorite part of this Campground was the friendly staff & free wood! If I come back I'd like to come in camper next time and try up front.
My 7 year old said his favorite part was trick or treating &
My 14 year old said his favorite part was the muesem and would like to go back for the rock the boat festival sometime as long as a band he liked was playing.
New Glasgow Highlands, Campground # 24
We just completed our 24th Prince Edward Island Campground! We spent our weekend at New Glasgow Highlands in New Glasgow, PEI.
It was a long weekend and my husband had to work so I looked for a campground we haven't done yet that had Cabins and New Glasgow Highlands ended being perfect for this! They actually have a lot of Cabins there, a few of my friends joined in this trip and rented Cabins too!
We arrived around 3 in the afternoon and was very pleased to see how beautiful the campground was with lots of trees. I drove to my site was surprised by how big the cabin was, definitely more room then I thought there would be! (And not an earwig in site either). The Cabins were also treed in and very private!
The kids wanted to go to the pool! We spent the rest of our day there, right up till supper time.
This Campground had a rec room with a community fridge, stove, keurig, and microwave in it. We took advantage of this and made our supper in there. Then the children of course wanted to go back to the pool so they did so right up until campfire time.
Our wood didn't seem to want to want to light for our campfire though, it apparently rained while we were eating our supper. We did get it good enough for the kids to get some smores in before they went to bed though.
The next morning everyone slept in until 8:30-9 and we woke up to a hot day.
After a coffee and a quick breakfast we went for a walk around the campground and saw they had many cabins, nice treed in sites for both campers and tenters, a small park and lots of walking trails.
After the walk the children of course wanted the pool. We stayed in there until lunch time and then we got some visitors! We had some nice chats with our visitors and then headed back to the pool, where we spent the rest of the day!
Today was filled with so much love, laughter and friendship, it was really the perfect day.
After our supper we had another campfire and this time the wood went on fire! We had some laughs and chats around the fire until about midnight until we all headed off to bed.
The next morning we ate a quick breakfast, packed up and headed back home.
My 13 year old said his favorite part of this Campground was the rec hall and the pool.
My 6 year old said his favorite part was the pool.
And my favorite was the treed in private cabin sites and having all my friends together.
This is a great Campground if you like more quiet type campground. Definitely a campground to make you feel rejuvenated!
Tranquilty By The Sea
Campground #23
It's the first long weekend of the summer and of course we are spending it camping. This weekends Campground of choice is Tranquility by the Sea in North Rustico. We almost canceled when we heard a PEI rumor that it is a nudist resort but after speaking with the owner he confirmed it is no longer a nudist resort and is in fact a Family Campground!
I arrived a little after 7, just after my husband finished setting up and we were in a treed in pull thru site! (Which was such a nice surprise since we haven't had many treed in sites since we upgraded from our tent!)
My in laws had arrived earlier today and had supper ready for us upon arrival.
After supper we went for a walk to the park where my 6 year played for a bit. Then we went back to our site for a Campfire.
The next morning we actually all slept in until about 9:30, which was so nice because we haven't done that in a while!
My husband made us a nice big breakfast and we slowly got ready for the day.
My youngest wanted to go the park after breakfast so we took a walk down to the park where he played for a bit. The park was small but my 6 year old enjoyed it until he decided he wanted to go to the pool.
We went back to our camper to get ready for the pool and when we went up we were the only ones there. We even got to meet the owners of the campground and they are super sweet and want everyone to know that this is a family Campground, NOT a nudist resort! 🤣
We spent a few hours at the pool then went to play some of the games they had behind it, which was every kind of camping game you could imagine! (Bean bags, ring toss, ping pong. Etc)
After playing with those games for a bit we came back to our site and played with the T-ball set our 6 year old got for Christmas and my husband made some supper.
After supper we had a Campfire and before we knew it, it was time for bed.
The next morning we woke up a little earlier, around 8:30 and I sat outside enjoying a cup of coffee in the sunshine without any mosquitoes! (Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that! They spray here so the bugs are not bad at all!!)
We then ate some breakfast and very slowly got ready for the day. Once we were ready for the day the weather took a turn and it started pouring with a few thunder claps! Thankfully we are really glampers and we just sat under the awning listening to rain while the kids watched a movie in the camper.
I soon went for an afternoon nap, there is nothing like having a nap in a camper while the rain hits the tin!
The rain eventually did stop and my 6 year old wanted one more play time at the park then it cleared up enough so we were able to have a Campfire!
The next morning our family slept in once again until 9:30 but check out is 12! (Not many campgrounds have a late checkout like this so it was nice not to rush)
My favorite part of this Campground is the sites, I love treed in sites and we haven't been in one since we were tenters.
My husband's favorite part was that the sites were treed in and how nice the owners were.
My 13 year olds favorite part was playing washer toss with his dad.
My 6 year olds favorite part was the park.
This Campground is a very quiet Campground with very little mosquitos and right in between North Rustico & Cavendish. (Perfect location if wanting to tour those areas) The bathrooms are also very clean and the owners were super nice. Campground #23

Last weekend we opened up Brudenell and for the first time we stayed out front and I must say the view did not disappoint! My youngest also made some new friends who were making amazing art on some rocks! Campground #22
Ocean Acres Cottages and Campground in Murray Harbour
It may be winter on Prince Edward Island but we just stayed at our 22nd P.E.I Campground since starting our journey in 2016!
Since it is winter we glamped more the camped but it is pretty cool that this Campground is open all year round.
We just spent 2 nights in a cottage at Ocean Acres Cottages & Campground in Murray Harbour, PEI.
This adventure was a Christmas present for our kids grandparents that was actually suppose to happen in January but to do covid isolation we had to rebook it for March.
We arrived pretty late Friday night to our cabin and were greeted by the boys grandparents who had arrived way earlier then us!
The campground had a fire going that we were all welcome to attend in a big fire pit area. We didn't attend though because we were to busy catching up.
We woke up early for us the next morning and had our coffee and breakfast! It wasn't to cold out that morning considering it's winter so I even got to enjoy a bit of my coffee on the porch looking at a very pretty view of the water!
A short time after breakfast we headed outside for some exploring. The Campground is small but cute so it was a very short walk.
We saw the pool, which is outdoors, so obviously not open on our visit. They also had an outdoor skating rink which they have open in the winter. You can also book sleigh rides with them.
(Unfortunately our weather this weekend wasn't nice enough to enjoy this activities but it is pretty cool that they offer winter fun too!)
In summer you can also rent kayaks there!
My youngest wanted to play at the playground so we spent most of our morning there.
The children wanted some snacks so we went up to there restaurant The Deck and Cohen ordered some ice cream while Carter decided on some carrot cake. I got myself a delicious chocolate mudslide drink!
Then we headed back to our cabin for some movies and a nap!
(It was a very relaxing weekend)
For supper we decided to order from the restaurant and they delivered it right to the cabin. I got fries with the works and it was definitely one the best I've had.
We then spent our evening with a family fun filled evening of cards and the hoe down.
The next morning we slept in a little later so we had a quick bite to eat and then packed up for home time!
I loved how this Campground is open year round and has activities for winter as well as summer time!
My favorite part was the delicious food they cook and I will definitely eat at The Deck restaurant again! And of course the company we were with! Also, the staff were amazingly friendly and went the extra mile for you, my son forgot his phone and they delivered it right to my work the following Monday!
My 5 year old said his favorite part was the park!
My 13 year old said his favorite part was undecided and he would have to go pack in the summer to figure it out
And
My husband said his favorite part was spending the weekend with his awesome family.
I love that this Campground offers sleigh rides and has an ice rink in the winter and in summer has a pool and kayaks you can rent!
Let's get thru these storm days so we can get to those sunny summer weekends! https://www.instagram.com/p/CZUnV3-l6rr/?utm_medium=tumblr

CAMPGROUND #21
Northlumberland Provincial Park
This past weekend we accomplished our 21st Prince Edward Island Campground which put us at the half way mark to camping at all PEI campgrounds!!
(I gave myself 10 years and this is year 5 so this puts me right on target!!)
We spent our half way mark weekend at Northlumberland Provincial Park Campground in Belle River, PEI.
We arrived at the campground around 6:30, we drove down a lane with some trees on both sides for about a minute before hitting the check-in kiosk.
We were directed to our site which was a short drive away. The campground is small but mighty with its beauty!
The kids were able to venture to the park as we set up since it was right across the site and the traffic was basically non exsiten.
Once we got settled we ate a very late supper and then headed to one of our camping buddies sites for a fire.
It started to rain on us but that didn't really stop us from the campfire fun!
The next morning we ventured out after breakfast for a walk with our friends who staying in one of the Cabins there! (The Cabins were small and cute with a bunk bed and couch that turns into a bed!)
The kids drove there bikes while we walked the whole campground with only seeing 2 cars on our route! Northlumberland Campground has many different sizes and types of sites! From open sites to treed in one's, to Cabins, 3-ways (50 amp & 30 Amp!), 2-ways and unserviced!
One thing that I thought that was really cool was that some of the tent sites has a place to park your car then you walked to a small little path to your site which had an amazing water view!
They also had 2 small playgrounds here for the kids, which both had swings and a slide!
After walking the campground we walked the beach! Northlumberland Campground has a beautiful sandy beach that would be awesome to spend the day at! (The soft sand, not the mud sand!)
You can also see Nova Scotia from here which is pretty cool and the ferry boats sailing by which is especially cool to see at night!
After our walk we relaxed at the campsite while the kids played at the park, it was great that we could still see them from our site!
We even got some amazing visitors to here! Some friends I haven't seen in a while due to covid!!
Before I knew it supper time was upon us! I have never had a camping day fly by so fast so I guess I was having a lot of fun!!
After supper we had our campfire and because it was by the water it was a bit chilly but worth it to see how pretty the ferry boat is driving by at night!
The next morning we had our breakfast and slowly packed up to go home!
My 12 year old said he didn't have favorite part from this campground.
My 5 year old said his favorite part was the park and the beach.
My husband says his favorite part was cleaning up after me! 🤣 (I'm pretty lucky to have such a good husband!)
My favorite part was the lack of traffic and being able to sit at my site while the kids played at the park. Also, the ferry boats, I loved watching the ferry boats cross back and forth all day!
Our family will definitely be back here again!
Bayside Travel Park
Campground #20
It's a long weekend on PEI and we are doing what our family enjoys doing most! Camping! We are on our 20th Prince Edward Island Campground!
Bayside Campground in Oyster Bed is where we spent our weekend.
Even though, it is a long weekend we had some appointments in our day so we didn't get to the campground till around 4:30. We are also tenting this trip as my husband is working and I don't feel comfortable enough to drive a truck with a fifth wheel hooked on to it.
(When I called and booked the owners were so sweet and said that they would put me right across from the park so I could stay at my site and relax if my children wanted to take off to the park!)
We got our campsite set up in about an hour, it was pretty hot yet windy so it took me longer then I felt it
should have because of my hair blowing in my face every five seconds and the sweat pouring off of me! Once we got our site all set up, we definitely did some cheating and went to Big Mommas for supper.
(I actually planned on doing this all along though as they have the best fries with works I have ever had on PEI and have been waiting all summer to get there for some!)
After supper, we ran into my brother who is seasonal at this campground and we had a drink together and went for a walk around the campground!
(He didn't know I was coming so it was a surprise for him to see me there!)
After the walk I went back to my site and chilled for a bit with the kids then let them watch a movie in the tent. (We had our laptop there and used the campgrounds wifi and the kids were able to watch Netflix without any problems at all!)
After breakfast the next morning, the boys and I went for a walk around the campground. It is a small quiet very clean campground. The 2W and 3W sites were a fair size, they also have lots of seasonal people here who seem to be like a community. (I felt very safe camping here in a tent with the kids by myself!) They also had a gorgeous area for playing horse shoes, a beautiful pool set up, small playground with swings and a small store that sold your basics like ice, firewood and chips!
After our walk the kids wanted to go to the pool they had just peeked at so we got ready and headed there. The pool temperature was cold at first but not to bad once you got used to it. It was also beautifully laid out, with relaxing chairs on the sides and even a few shelters around. It wasn't very busy and lots of places to lounge around it ( definitely a place where I would enjoy lounging around all day!)
When we were done the pool we headed back to our site for some lunch! Then after that we headed to a beach with my brother and his kids that was a short drive away!
We spent a few hours there and then as soon as we got back the kids wanted to go back to the pool so we did!
(We were in the pool until supper time!)
After supper we started an early campfire, the store even gave me paper and kindling to start my fire! (This is the first time that paper and kindling have been provided from any campground I've been to. Usually it is just the wood!)
I spent the evening around the campfire with my boys and playing with glow sticks until they were ready for bed!
As soon as we woke up Sunday morning we packed up our site and headed home. We were definitely all a little more tired after tenting for a weekend then we are when we have our trailor!
This campground is a small, quiet campground that is very clean and has a community vibe.
It is beside the Oyster Bed Speedway so if you don't like that noise I would suggest to go on a weekend with no races! (There was some when we were there but apparently the wind was going the right direction so it wasn't to bad. We only heard the cars every once in a while.)
My 12 year old said his favorite thing was the pool!
My 5 year old said his favorite thing was the pool and playing with the glowsticks!
My favorite part was the how relaxing the pool area and also that there was NO MOSQUITOES!
I would probably come back here for a weekend!
Pine Hills RV Park
Prince Edward Island Campground #19
Last weekend we accomplished our 19th Prince Edward Island Campground, Pine Hills in Harrington, PEI. It was a little touch and go at first if we were even going to make it out because of the hurricane warning PEI was having but the campground was great about letting us make last minute decisions for this weekend without any penalty.
The kids friends decided they were going to go so we decided around 3pm that we would give it a go too! Our friends were staying in a cabin and because of the potential storm we decided to do one night in the cabin and then my husband would bring the camper out very early the next morning. (They let him come before check in time without any extra cost).
Friday night we arrived pretty late as I was working till 5:30 and with this being a last minute decision to actually go I was only half ready. So, after worked we went and grabbed our stuff then picked up some Pizza on the way out to eat for supper and enjoyed it when we finally arrived at the cabin. The cabin was cute and small but roomy. All we needed to bring was our blankets, the cabin has one queen sized bed and one bunkbed in it. The kids really enjoyed experiencing the cabin for a change.
Our other friends had arrived earlier in the day so the kids had a bit of time to explore together before bedtime. The wind woke me up a few times in the night but it wasn't to bad. (The kids slept thru it all!)
We had to be out of the cabin by 10am the next morning and slept in till about 9:30 so we quickly packed up and hung out at our friends cabin until my husband arrived around 10:45 with our trailor. He quickly got it all set up and the kids were ready for the pool. It was your typical type of pool with the deep end and shallow end, The edges sloped down gradually. (My 4 year old really seemed to enjoy this part of it and had fun playing around the edges of it)The pool was a bit cold but fine once you got used to it, this may also be because our weather hasn't been very nice on PEI lately so it wouldn't have had the chance to heat up. This day the sun was shining though, it was nice to feel the sun on my shoulders while sitting pool side.
After the pool we had a quick lunch and the kids played at the park for a bit while we waited for some more friends to join in. The campground has two different parks, one a lot smaller with a little playset and swings, great for the young ones. The bigger park had some cool tree houses and things to climb!
Soon we had a friend join us who never went camping before and when she told the campground staff it was her first time camping, they moved her cabin to be the one right beside our other friends that was staying in a cabin so she would have a better experience. (Orginally it was right behind them). Once our friends got settled the kids wanted to go back back the pool so away we went, I think we really spend most of our Saturday pool side! It was supper time when the kids were ready to leave the pool. After supper the younger kids wanted to go on the hayride. (And some of the big kids too). My 5 year old Cohen loved this so much, he went on about 4 times! My older kid went with his friends to the small acarde to play some games while the hayride was on! That evening we had a few friends visit us for a campfire. We had lots of laughs and entertainment from the kids until bed time. The next morning everyone packed up and headed home expect us. We decided to stay the week and see if we would enjoy the traveling back and forth to work.
We had a great weekend with our friends and will probably visit this campground again.
I didn't find this campground too busy while we were there but I know there was a lot of cancallations because of the weather, it was especially quiet in the area we were at. I would say it's a busy but quiet campground that is great for younger and older children. So, if you like the quiet but busy has a few things to do type campgrounds I think this would be a great campground for you! (There was no amazing view or anything but there was No Mosquitos and that was amazing!)
My 12 year old, Carter said his favorite part was the pool!
My 5 year old, Cohen said his favorite part was the hayride, the pool, and the smores!
And My favorite part was No Mosquitoes and the super accommodating staff!!
The staff here were super accommodating to our needs and made our stay very pleasant. Our family will definitely visit again.
Jacques Cartier Provincial Park
Prince Edward Island Campground #18 for us!
Since it's our vacation time and we are still living in a pandemic we decided to go on a PEI camping trip.
So, up west is where we headed for. All the way up to Jacques Cartier Provincial Park to check off our 18th Prince Edward Island Campground!
We arrived around 3:30 in the pouring rain and my husband got us set up in no time. The mosquitos were out too but compared to where we live they weren't that bad. Though, we all definitely left with a few bites, especially our youngest! Mosquitos really seem to love him.
We enjoyed the view under the awning until my sons grandparents arrived and then we helped them get settled. The sites we were at were kind of small and I found it hard to tell what was your area but there was a lot of larger sites around us. The rain had settled at this point, enough for us to eat outside. We had got a shelter from Candian tire that fits the picnic table and more underneath it! It was a definitely a great buy!
The rain even left us alone for the evening to have a campfire! The boys enjoyed making some smores and telling campfire stories.
We also saw a skunk roaming around the sites across from us, while there was still light out and he didn't seem to care that we were around as we watched him walk back and forth to the garbage cans scavenging for food.
While, we were sleeping it poured and I was very thankful to be in a camper, nice and dry! I do like the sound of the rain on the camper though, it is very calming.
The next morning we had a nice breakfast and then went on our campground walk.
The campground wasn't to big so our walk wasn't that long. We saw the staff putting on some games for the children and they do have a little playground for the kids that is pretty updated. We walked around the unserviced sites and some of the sites were really nice and large. Others were laid out a little small and I found the lay out a bit confusing on some sites. During our walk my 12 year old said that he thinks this is more of a couples campground. (Though there were a lot of other kids around)
My 5 year old finally got on his bike, after many camping trips of refusing to even get on it! He enjoyed it so much, even though our time was rainy and cold he always wanted to go out for a bike ride. The way the campground was set up it was great for him to do a loop and we could still see him. The cars also were not very plenty full so that helped too, though that could have been because the weather was definitely not the best. We did hear a lot of people canceled!
The afternoon was pretty cold wet and windy but we had an awesome heater for the top of our propane tank that threw off some great heat for us to be able to sit outside under our shelter.
Our afternoon was actually pretty relaxing and definitely a great mental break even if it was rainy and cold the whole time.
Before we knew it, it was supper time so we enjoyed a meal together and spend the rest of the evening having some great laughs in the camper till we parted for bed.
The next day was still pretty cold but the warmest it had been. My little one wanted to venture to the playground so we did. It was pretty updated and had some cool things at it. Like, a pirate ship playset with slides and climbers, swings and modern day merry go rounds. We played there for a bit until it was time to pack up and go home.
My 5 year old said his favorite thing about this campground was riding his bike.
My 12 year old said he didn't have a favorite part and thought it was more of a couples campground.
My favorite part was probably the mental break and doing nothing for the weekend.
I would have loved to have had a beach day here as the beach looked like it would have been beautiful on a nice day, Unfortunately the weather didn't agree.
This campground is very pretty and has some nice sites, especially the unserviced ones. However, I am happy to have experienced this campground and get another one off the list I don't think it's a campground for our family. Though if you like water, being away from cell service and small simple campgrounds then this is definitely a campground for you. Hopefully you will have nicer weather then we received on our time here!
Just an FYI, the government is being pretty cheap this year and charging extra for a lot of things it never did before, like moving sites, changing dates etc. This is happening at all Provincial campgrounds this year, hopefully the extra money is going to the staff.

CNG Country Cabins and Campground
Campground #17
We just spent our weekend celebrating my upcoming birthday at our 17th PEI campground; CNG Country Cabins and Campground in Brackley, PEI.
We arrived to this campground a bit before supper time on Friday evening, our first impression of our site was that it was kind of small but one of the parks was right behind us so the kids definitely loved that! Once we got all set up we had some supper and for the first time since we started camping this season we ate inside the camper since it was so cold outside! Though, not cold enough to stop us from having a campfire! The quiet time is 11 here and fires are suppose to be out then too, we went a little longer then this but no body came down and said anything to us!
On Saturday morning we lazed around our camper for most of it and ate some delicious Borrowed Kitchen bakery goods for breakfast! Around 11 we decided we should go for a walk and check out the campground and petting farm!
Our walk around the campground itself didn't take very long as it is not a big campground at all, in fact this is actually the first year they are even a campground, they have cottages before but just added the campground this year! (Apparently if the campground part does well they may expand on that part!) On our walk we saw they had 3 different playground areas, just little parks but they were very appropriate for my 4 year old and they had a big tree house that even I went inside and it was pretty cool! They also have a small outdoor pool and get this....a large indoor pool! After exploring the parks we found the animals and they were all so friendly! You could tell these animals (the mini horse, the pig, the goat, the rabbits and the 4 large horses) were loved and well taken care of by their owners! We probably spent a good chunk of our afternoon just admiring the animals and petting them!
After our exploring we went make to our campsite for some lunch. After our lunch the kids wanted to try the pool. It was a cold fall day so we were all happy and thankful that this place had a indoor pool. When we arrived at the pool we saw it was very big length wise and it was so warm! My husband, myself and our two youngest boys spent most of our afternoon swimming in this amazingly warm nice indoor pool!
After swim time we froze walking back to our camper 🤣, changed into our nice warm clothing, had supper and started our evening campfire!
This weekend was also my early Birthday Celebrations so we listened to the hoe down around the campfire with the boys grandparents (who were camping next to us for the weekend!)
*My husband did request a Happy Birthday shout out to CFCY but unfortunately Darren Macpherson didn't pass the message on*
We sat around the fire until a little after 12 or so! (Again, fires are suppose to out by 11 but maybe since we were quiet enough that no one came to say anything!)
The next morning we didn't wake up until 9 and check out is 10am! So we packed up pretty much as soon as we woke up. We were a bit pass 10 getting out there but no one said anything to us about that!
I liked this campground for this time of the year because of the indoor pool option and want to try it again in a few more years when they add more campsites to it!
My 11 year old said his favorite part of this campground was the indoor pool.
My 4 year old said his favorite part was the miniature horse.
My favorite part would be the indoor pool also and the fact the park was right behind us!
If you like to party and be loud while you are camping then this is definitely not the campground for you!
This is a small quiet family friendly type of campground and the traffic here was also nonexistent! (After seeing the animals and even before we hit the pool my 11 year old actually said to me "We are definitely coming back here next year"...he seems to like the smaller, quieter campgrounds so from now on I may refer to the small, quiet ones as a "Carter Campground")
I think campground would be perfect for a tourist with a family who is looking for a quiet place to have as your "home base". (The cottages also seemed liked they were reasonably priced!)
