blow dust off blog
[[ so, uh. hi. Iâm alive?
I just archived my alt mutiverse blog because my muse for billy has been a little iffy since the end of New Avengers and the big influx of Wiccan blogs... but I do still want to write him, and for that, Iâm dusting off this monstrously old blog and getting back into the game. this blog will remain singleship and multi-thread, meaning that the canon is fluid regarding storylines, but that the blog itself respects a central continuity. I will NOT be roleplaying anything to do with the current Secret Whateverthefuck
Iâll dig up one of my promos or something and hope for the best
princessamericachavez:
How strong is Jessica Jones for real? Like, in an MCU scale. Can someone tell me? Iâm increasingly confused as to how strong sheâs meant to be.
Okay so like. I tried like four times to type this out and tumblr kept FUCKING LOSING IT so
Power grid puts 616 Jessica on a 4/6 for strength. America is a 5, Luke Cage is also a 4 and he's able to lift ~25 tons thanks to years of training and lifting (bro)
In MCU terms she's about the same strength as Spider-Man, probably 10-15 tons at absolute max, along with heightened stamina and durability.
Teddy was seven pages in when he felt the kiss and looked up. âAre they asleep already?â He huffed out a laugh and straightened. He really needed to stop hunching. Healing only did so much for sore muscles.
âI guess all that movement wore them out.â Teddy leaned against the back of couch, bringing the laptop onto his lap.
It hit him again, the simplicity of the scene. He was working on a school paper with his husband in the kitchen and their children upstairs. If someone had told him this would be reality in five years, Teddy would have called them crazy.
With a sudden idea, Teddy followed Billy into the kitchen. âYou need any help?â Sure he was slacking off, but he had put 5 good hours into the paper today. A little slacking off couldnât hurt right?
He grinned at his husband. âYep, learning to scoot around took it out of them. âCourse soon weâll be struggling to keep up with them.â
At this time of night, past dinnertime but too early for sleep, the only answer was fried food. âIf you want. How does a grilled cheese sound to fuel up the tanks?â He had moved, his hip resting against Teddyâs as he started warming a pan.
Teddy hummed in approval as his hands cupped Billyâs hips. He loved doing this, pressing up against Billy, holding him as he cooked. It was after all, one of his favorite past times.Â
âThat sounds perfect.â With a kiss to the shoulder, a small nudge with his hips, Teddy moved off to get the supplies. After all, no matter what, if Teddy tried to cook them, they would end up blacker than Billyâs hair.Â
âAnd thatâs what we have Uncle Tommy for.âÂ
He grinned at the warm, easy affection. Five years married and they still couldnât keep their hands off each other â and he hoped that would continue, he wanted to be the gross parents who made their children squeal in disgust anytime they were affectionate whether they were toddlers, teens, or adults on their own. He loved this.
âPray neither of them is as fast as Uncle Tommy. I donât know if Iâm ready for that.â Chuckling, he cut a slab of butter and started it melting in the pan. âPlus, I donât know if the preschool facilities at the Institute are quite up to speed yet. Dani Cage visited and broke one of the playpens with her bare hands.â
Teddy set out the bread, the cheese and a can of Tomato soup, because simply couldnât have grilled cheese without tomato soup to dip it in.
âOf course she did.â He pulled out enough slices for 4 sandwiches before handing the first two to Billy.
âDo you think theyâll have speed? I mean, they have just our genes right?â Granted they were twins butâŚ. it wouldnât make sense if they had the speed.
Billy kept working, easily assembling and setting the sandwiches in the pan. âSheâs getting so big, Teddy. Six already. She was just trying to get a doll out and bent the whole side down.â
He flipped the sandwiches with a wistful smile on his lips. âWell, it runs in the family, if youâll pardon the joke. Neither shows magic either, but that may take until theyâre teenagers to show up.â

âThey hold you to a different standard because you are not some peasant roaming the streets. You are royalty.â
Billy frowned softly, gathering his robe a bit tighter around himself. âAll well and good, but I need them to respect that Iâm not like them⌠What I do and how I act in the privacy of our chambers is my business and â if you are lucky â yours as well. I am still human.â
Dorrek chuckled despite himself. His betrothed had always amused him. It was one of the many reasons why he persuaded his counsel to propose the idea to Erik Maximoff instead of one of the Many Kree princesses that had been clamoring after him since he had become old enough to understand his place in the Universe.Â
âBut they are not. And most never cared to try to understand Human behavior before now. Everything you do fascinates them, even if the acts are within our bedchambers.â His accent still made his words in English sound weird, but he was getting better. Slowly. William was an excellent teacher. A smile touched his lips as he met his husbands gaze.Â
âJust as much as your behavior fascinates myself.â
English sounded so interesting coming from his husbandâs lips, heâd never even considered how exotic it could sound until heâd started teaching Dorrek. Something about the clipped, low tone reminded him of old movies where ancient peoples were all depicted as having British-but-not-quite accents.
âIâm not one of the birds in the menagerie,â he replied, but his tone was lighter, a faint smile flickering on his features. âAnd Iâm not the best to study when it comes to human behavior. Iâve had to change a lot about myself since coming here, but my insistence on privacy will remain. Where I come from itâs⌠obscene, to consider watching someone else engaged in marital acts.â He looked up, catching Dorrekâs eye.
âItâs the one place I can be myself, and I refuse to back down on this.â
âI am not say you should. I am say that it is to be expect. They do not understand the need forâŚâŚâ He paused, trying to find the word in English and failing. â[Privacy]⌠I do not know the word in english..â
But he made a mental note to speak with his commanderâs about it. If they spoke to the people, hopefully they would listen and tone down the questions.
His fingers slipped into the spaces between his consortâs fingers, gripping lightly. âPrivacy,â he repeated, a patient smile on his lips. [Please help them understand,] he added in Dorrekâs native language, a little proud of how comfortable he was getting with it. âIt would make me much more comfortable in everyday life if I could relax in our chambers.â
The door slamming open made him jump, and the whirlwind of events that happened afterward took about five years off of his life. He had never lost an erection that fast and the results left him feeling light headed.
And then all of a sudden it was over. Thomas leveled him with a glare that would have withered the skin from his bones before leaving the small room. Teddy watched him, taking a deep, calming breath as he ran a hand through his hair.
âYou should follow him.â Teddy glanced toward Billy. The adrenaline had his hand shaking, and he ran one through his hair to hide the motion.
âHeâs your brother. And we can talk about⌠this⌠later.â
As adrenaline wore out of his system, Billy found himself in a state of shock and horror. Tommy would most likely rush to their uncle â the only family they had, since their motherâs disappearance â and then Pietro would likely go straight to Commander Rogers. A daydream become a nightmare, in five short minutes. He looked over at Teddy, hurt and confused and still bitterly angry.
âHeâs the worst,â he said, his voice soft. âEver since we lost Mother. She used to always tell him I was his responsibility. âMind your brother, Thomas. You know he is dear to usâ. I think she knew I wasnât like other boys.â He sighed. âI donât know why Iâm saying all this.â
He flicked a hand at the door. [ Fuck him, ] he spat, frowning before moving back over to slip a hand into Teddyâs. âIf heâs off to get me in trouble I might as well have something to answer for.â
âBeeâŚâ Teddy tugged on Billyâs hand, keeping him from walking out. âHeâs your brother. Heâs only doing what your mom asked him to do. No, itâs not fair for either of you but that doesnât mean you should just write him off.â His voice as soft as he lifted Billyâs hand to his lips, brushing it gently.
âGo find him. Sort it out, and then you can come by my room later.â His blue eyes flashed in mischief before they softened again.
âBut please talk to him. I know what itâs like to lose your family.â He murmured, the echo of pain in his voice. His father, sister and brother with the first attacks, the near misses heâs had with his mother.
âI donât want you to lose your brother because of me. Iâm not worth that much.â
Billy sniffed, shaking his head. âI am not writing him off. Even if he cannot stand the sight of me anymore weâre still pilots. Heâd have to see me in Rush, and he is still my brother in spite of it all.â He looked at the door, sighing slowly.
âHe is just⌠so protective. I donât think he realizes what heâs doing is preventing me from being happy.â His eyes tracked back to Teddy, a sadness echoed in his own gaze. Theyâd lost a lot, all of them. Here, Billy had hoped heâd finally found something, and it was at stake.
âYou are worth as much and more, Teddy. You think people like us just fall in love every day?â
Teddy huffed out a laugh, his fingers tightening on Billyâs, letting the younger pilot lead him out of the closet. If Billy was okay with it then he would be too.
âI suppose not. But Iâm serious. If not now, sit down and talk with him eventually.â
The grip on his hand steeled his resolve, adding energy to his stride. Theyâd have to talk about this eventually, why not get it out when it was still fresh and new. No secrets, no skulking. Billy was too honest for all that anyway.
He hadnât even remembered he was shirtless. The scars of his run-in with the Kaiju at a young age were on full display, a spiral of round marks running all along his arm and chest. There was a tattoo of an odd, flower-shaped mark on his opposite shoulder, a constellation on his wrist, and the designation number for his Jaeger just below his clavicle. Most other pilots knew Tommy had a veritable kaleidoscope of tattoos on his skin, but it was a surprise to most that Billy had a few, himself.
He offered a cheery smile to Teddy, buoyed by his own musings. âSo you do love me.â
The words had the world screeching to a sudden halt. Had he said that? He stared at Billy, mentally running over the conversation again trying to find the place that made Billy think that.
Mainly because he didnât know if he was there yet. Sure he was attracted to the blond, and he was falling faster than heâd wanted to admit but actually IN love with him? Not yet⌠though he was probably dangerously close.
âI uh⌠maybeâŚ.â He answered softly, hoping that Billy understood. âIm⌠not quite there yet but⌠itâs close. To that I meanâŚâ
The flippant shrug and grin Billy gave Teddy was added to by the dazzling, actually cheerful look in his eyes. âIt is a start,â he said, voice light and airy. He stepped closer, he leaned up to kiss Teddyâs jaw softly.
âI will talk to my brother. And when thatâs done, and I have convinced him you are not going to take advantage of me and leave me to weep the loss of you, I will come to your room and resume where we left off.â
To be honest, he wasnât even thinking of sex. He simply wanted the closeness. The slow kisses, the hands exploring. The connection to another human being on a level not even the Drift could provide.
âThey hold you to a different standard because you are not some peasant roaming the streets. You are royalty.â
Billy frowned softly, gathering his robe a bit tighter around himself. âAll well and good, but I need them to respect that Iâm not like them⌠What I do and how I act in the privacy of our chambers is my business and â if you are lucky â yours as well. I am still human.â

crosshair â arrival in terminal 4
It was a good thing that his bags were already on the floor because they would have fallen through numb fingers otherwise. He had been gone for almost two years. A lot could change in 18 months but this?
Hearing the name instantly had the room blurring as a whirlwind of emotions shot through him. She was perfect. Skin still slightly red and the first cusp of dark curls peaking out of the blanket. He couldnât move, his arms feeling like weights when Billy gently slipped her to his arms.
âHow? When? I meanâŚ.â Gods he couldnât even think. He had thought that it would be another uear, two of trying to make the paperwork go through. He bit the inside of his cheek as she stirred, blinking to clear the moisture from his eyes so he could see her clearly.
âHow?â He asked again, looking to his husband. He barely heard the noise of the airport, the baby girl feeling like air and the heaviest weight of his life at the same time.
If heâd thought Sarah was tiny before, she looked utterly miniature in his husbandâs thick arms, the yellow blanket stark against his MultiCam. She made a soft sound at being shifted into new arms, but settled right down, a fist close to her face.
âLast week,â he admitted, leaning close to Teddy to keep the blanket close to the top of her head, to keep her warm. âHer mother was the best girl â high schooler in trouble, wanted a good home for her. She let me in the delivery room, I even have video.â He kissed Teddyâs dry, rough knuckles. âWe forgot to cancel the application when you shipped out. I got a call six months ago, and then⌠well, you see.â
Their friends were laughing and cavorting, taking pictures of the scene, but Billy couldnât look away from his husband and their daughter. âWelcome home, Dad.â
Dad.
That title was the one that broke him. He huffed out a laugh, the tears finally breaking through to slip down his cheeks.
He was a dad. A father and this little tiny human in his arms was suddenly the most precious thing in the world to him. He leaned against Billy, the smile threatening to split his face in half. He never thought he could be this happy. Not after the world of hell he saw.
His head leaned against Billys, his eyes unable to tear away from their daughter.
âI love you. So much.â
Down in his arms, Sarah seemed to finally be roused by all the rustling, but she simply squirmed a little, reaching high for something to grab and, finding a fold of Teddyâs uniform, gripped it tight and settled back down. A yawn escaped her, ending on a soft squeak noise, and then she was drifting back off again.
Billyâs arms looped around them, his head resting against Teddyâs shoulder, slightly off to one side so he wouldnât crush Sarah. âI love you too.â He stood there a long moment, rubbing Teddyâs back, soaking in the moment he would remember for the rest of his life.
Finally, the silence was broken by the rest of their merry band insisting the pair get 1) out of the way of people trying to get out of the terminal and 2) moving so they could go to the dinner theyâd planned after picking up the soldiers. Reluctantly, Billy moved away from his husband and  their daughter to collect their stuff -- at some point either Eli or Tommy had grabbed Teddyâs bags and taken them out to Clintâs ridiculous SUV that, while they usually criticized it, at least managed to fit everyone plus Sarahâs carseat. He slung a battered leather satchel over his shoulders and picked up her carrier off a chair.
âCâmon, babe. Kateâs treating us all tonight.â

crosshair â arrival in terminal 4
When they stepped back and really looked at it, their life together had always been sort of âliving by the unexpectedâ. Theyâd long since learned not to rely on the status quo, because it could change at the drop of a hat â or, in recent cases, at a threat that drew the best and brightest special forces off leave and into active duty. Two years after his last extended deployment, theyâd made the mistake of getting too complacent. Planning too far ahead.
The adoption application process was going beautifully smoothly when Teddy got the call that yanked the floor out from under them again. Yet this time, instead of devastated tears, they both simply shrugged, smiled, and agreed to try again when he got home. When, not if.
Neither would accept he could be defeated. It simply wasnât a consideration.

He stood at the gate, all smiles, surrounded by family and friends waiting anxiously for the planeâs occupants to disembark. Nerves were all afire â Cassie was already sort of crying, having her back rubbed by Jonas, while Kate stood quietly with Clint wringing her skirt. Eli was on that plane too, and from what theyâd heard, it had been a rough eighteen months in God-knew-where.
As soon as people started filing out, the group huddled together. Tommy stood pretty much in front of his twin, an arm looped around the waist of his longtime on-off paramour, David. Clint kept his hands on Kateâs shoulders, a fatherly support for his longtime business partner. They wouldnât be hard to spot, a big knot all wearing shirts with the Crosshairâs logo on them. But Billy kept in the middle of the throng, waiting for a tall blond figure to come striding through the fray.
He was finally home. Finally, with the promise of officially retiring this time and yes it would actually stick making him hopeful.
He nodded to the people thanking him for his service, wanting nothing more than to get out of the hot uniform and see his husband. Of course he was expecting Billy and Tommy to be there, Kate as well. But with Eliâs grin, Teddy couldnât help but be concerned when he saw them all there. And billy wasâŚ
Holding a new born.
Teddy almost stopped but he kept going as Eli ran ahead to scoop up Kate and twirl her around.
âHey.â He grinned, setting his bags on the ground to free up his hands.
âWhose this?â
The group parted for Billy to move through; Tommy clapped Teddy on the shoulder briefly and then went to greet Eli while Billy broke the news. Cassie, meanwhile was still in tears, watching with the happiest smile. (Of course, it didnât help that sheâd quietly informed Billy she was going to tell Jonas she was pregnant when they got home.)
Grinning, the brunet adjusted his grip on the baby in his arms, opening the soft yellow blanket to show its sleeping face in spite of the noisy terminal. âThis is  your daughter. Sarah Abigail, this is your Daddy.â His throat closed up a bit, and he looked back up with a slightly watery smile.
âI wanted it to be a surprise when you got home.â
