Sanzu made his way through the almost empty halls of his school. He wasnât thinking of anything in particular. Maybe just getting home, or hanging out with Mikey. His train of thought was cut short when he felt something hit his chest. A loud thud followed it, and stuff fell to the ground. He quickly looked down, eyes wide to see a girl on the floor rubbing her head. He watched as her eyes widened, she quickly shot up, but then bowed.
âIâm so sorry! I wasnât watching where I was going.â He crouched down, which confused her, only then did she remember she was holding her books and papers. He helped her pick up her stuff handing it back to her.
âItâs no big deal.â He smiled, yet she couldnât see his smile because of the mask that covered his face
. âThank you anyway, and sorry again.â She bowed once again, quickly walking away.Â
The next time Sanzu saw you, was in class. He was surprised to see you there. He didnât think he had you for any classes. Yet when you walked in, you both made eye contact. You gave him a shy smile, walking back to your desk. After that, itâs like heâd see you everywhere. In the halls, during lunch, and sometimes after school. Every single time you saw him, youâd give him that same soft genuine smile. That same smile that would make him smile, even though you could never see it. You knew he smiled though because his eyes would crease just a little to give you the hint. Sanzu and you grew close over some time, yet youâve never once seen him without his mask, you didnât mind though. If he wasnât comfortable with showing you yet or at all then you were fine with it. You would make small jokes or remarks about him taking off his mask, but seeing as he never replied or stayed quiet you didnât push it.
âHey, Sanzu wanna go eat after school?â
âCall me Haruchiyo.â You were taken aback by the sudden suggestionof using his first name, yet you smiled.Â
âFine Haru~ wanna go eat after school, my treat.â With your hands behind your back, you smiled, waiting for his answer. He flushed at the nickname you gave him, that was quick. Boy was he glad his mask covered his cheeks or heâd be a dead man.
âYea of course. But youâre not payingâ
âAlright, well meet me at the front of the school so we can walk together.â Sanzu shook his head, confusing you.
âMeet me at the back, weâre not walking.â You were confused but agreed nevertheless.
Now you both stood in front of his pink motorcycle. âNope, no way.â You turned around walking away. He gripped your shoulder pulling you back.
âCome on it ainât that bad, just hold on tight.â The whole ride you kept your head glued to his back and your arms gripping the life out of him, yet he didnât mind. His heart fluttered at the close proximity.
Once you both reached the place you ordered your food and waited. Everything was going smoothly until the food arrived. You had begun eating your food but soon stopped, noticing Sanzu hadnât begun eating.
âThis was a part of your plan huh?â He scoffed. You almost choked on your food. âWhat?â His eyes bored into yours. âDonât play dumb.â He sneered, youâd never seen him act like this toward you.
 âWhat are you talking about?â
âTo get me to take off my mask.âÂ
âHaru that isnât true-â
âItâs Sanzu.â He stood up walked away, and placed money on the table. âHaru wait!â You followed him outside, and he started his motorcycle leaving you behind. You stood there shocked and heartbroken. You teared up, walking home alone.
When Sanzu got home he quickly ripped his mask off. Breathing heavily, only now did it hit him. He left you alone, with no ride, in the cold, at night. He quickly started calling you sending you texts and driving back to the place only to find out you werenât there. He could barely get any sleep. âIâll apologize tomorrow he thought.â Yet you werenât at school the next day, which scared him to death. What if you got kidnapped? Did you get hurt? Where did you go? Why werenât you answering? He practically ran to one of your friends demanding threatening to tell him your address. Once they finally did he ran out of school and jumped on his bike, speeding straight to your house.
Loud banging on your door jolted you awake. You didnât go to school today, too embarrassed to see Sanzu, you opted to stay home in the comfort of your own bed. You quickly brushed your sheets off and made your way to the front door. When you opened the door, you were met with a very panicked Sanzu. Your eyes widened,
âOh my god.â He sighed in relief, and he pulled you into a hug. Almost crushing you, you were so shocked and confused and mad. What was he doing here? You kept hearing âyouâre okayâ not knowing if it was to reassure you or him. As he pulled away you went to speak but he quickly cut you off. Only then could you see his eyes. He was crying, his brows furrowed.Â
âFuck I-Iâm so sorry, I shouldnât have left you there last night and I was gonna say Iâm sorry but you werenât there and I freaked out and-âÂ
 âItâs okay Sanzu.â
âItâs not, all of this just because of this stupid mask.â
 âItâs not stupid-âÂ
All words died in your throat when you saw him. Finally saw him. He was looking down but his nose and mouth were on perfect display. You could see scars on the ends of his mouth. Brows furrowing at the thought of how he could possibly get scars like those. He saw you shuffling closer to him. His heart was beating so fast, and he felt like he was gonna pass out. You were the first girl that ever saw him without his mask. Not a lot of people have seen him without it. So he was scared about what youâd think.Â
âCan I?â You asked, raising your hand to his cheek. He only nodded closing his eyes. You gently caressed his cheek, running your thumbs along his scars. His hands laid awkwardly at his sides. Now you could see how his cheeks were tainted red. He was so beautiful, so angelic, you found yourself blushing as well.Â
âH-Haru. Iâm sorry for getting mad at you. You can still call me Haru.â He mumbled, now opening his eyes to look at you. You both were so close, noses almost touching.
âCan we kissâ or I mean can I kiss you.â He blurted out. You giggled at his embarrassing state but before he could close the gap. You placed pecks on his scars, which made him freeze. Eyes burning with tears, he bit his lip. Even though he asked to kiss you, you were the one that closed the gap. Your guyâs lips were a perfect match, he thought. Smiling into the kiss, he pulled you closer and kissed you a little bit harder.
